Pot head vs stoner

Ive come to the conclusion theres a difference, a pothead is more philosophical and nature oriented and smoke to enlighten were as stoners do it for the high and are more physical. Any comments?>

I hate both terms to be honest, although I would call myself both from time to time. Yeah I agree with your pothead comments. I know because that is one reason why I smoke.

As for stoners, well I dunno whats the difference apart from everyone else's opinion.

I dunno but there a different ways of how people use their bud. Some people do it 4 the physical rush and some do it 4 the phylosofical affect it has. I use it 4 both effects. But I use different stuff 4 different feelings. If I wanna lie on m couch pretty munch in coma i use hawaiin sun. If I wanna watch comedy I smoke silverpearl. If I wanna chat a bit I use Super Pollum.

i can understand your thinking, if you were to give an appropriate description to these labels. i have also heard "stoner" used for people who just do lots of drugs, not necessarily people who smoke lots of pot.

I think I don't fit into either categorie. I actually smoke ocasionally
with the intention of exploring the psychadelic effects of thc... so
yeah large dosages preferably taken with a vaporizer, seeking
hallucinations and an ocassional obe.

i just get those names yelled at me by everyone but i think things like jumping up and down for fifteen minutes with a freindand laughing histerically at it and saying "whoa man i just thought of something cool" may contribute to that

Personally, i think those names are offensive. In school, everyone who
sees me in the halls is like "Fuckin stoner" or "POTHEAD!". Its like
fucking racism. How would they like it if i went up and down the halls
saying stuff like "Fuckin nigger" or "Dirty spic". Its the same
concept. So what if in my free time i like to smoke a little marijuana
with some buds (no pun intended). And its not like i did anything to
them in the first place.



But IMO, i think "Pothead" is just someone who smokes all the time, so
its like their head is just full of pot. "Stoner" is someone who smokes
occasionally, and when they do smoke, they get stoned or really high. I
fit more into the "Stoner" category, considering I only do it on the
weekends and when i do smoke, its always a large quantity.

Don't Americans use the word 'stoned' to describe the effects of other drugs? I think I've heard it with reference to acid.

I prefer to think of the 2 differently both are inherantly the same, they both smoke alot of weed. When I was growing up we smoked weed and got stoned. When my parents were growing up (they didnt smoke but this is relative to their time period) they smoked pot and got high. I was a stoner they would be potheads. These days it seems both are used by different sets of people depending on what the refer to their marajuana as. Edited by: drwoo

I like taking my thc as stong as possible, trying to reach a psicodelic-psicologic experience. Hash oil, good grade cannabis and mixing various drugs.


I think this makes me "stoned", but this is a spiritual and exploring experience (psiconaut), and I also have lots fun.

i think pothead is a more general term and can apply to a wide variety of people, one whom smokes a lot of pot. stoner on the other hand is more of a style, a way of thinking....stoners are there own type of people....anyone who smokes a lot of pot could be a pothead, but not everyone is a stoner

I've never found either term offensive, but just another description. Words only carry the weight the speaker gives them and you can use any word to mean a positive or a negative.

I have no problem being thought of as a pothead or stoner because thats part of who I am. If someone has a problem with that, fuck them, its their problem.

Your perception is your reality. Things will piss you off only if you let them.

people on my bus thought i was stoned all the time and thus called me a
stoner. i guess they thought i managed to smoke up at school everyday
of the year without getting busted. i didnt. im just a very mellow
person.

In my area, a stoner seems to mean anyone who's 'into' drugs, if you know what i mean, not specifically weed.
