Combinations - Xanax and Tequila

Well lets talk about a guy name tim.
well tomorrow tim is getting two 2mg xanax from a doctor. Tims friend bobby is coming over. Since tim and bobby have panic attacks almost every night, they must take something to help them. They both never tried xanax before. If they take 1 2mg each, the follow it with a single shot of tequila, what would the effects be? Would tim and bobby die or od?

OD on Xanax is 4mg if I am correct. Mixing pills with alcohol could have very bad side effects...I'm not sure if it will do anything bad, but caution should be taken.

An overdose on benzodiazepines alone is possible but highly unlikely, however combining it with alcohol can be quite dangerous. SWIY would definately not OD after 4mg alprazolam alone. SWIM doubts chasing it down with a shot of tequila would cause an adverse reaction. However, everyone is different. Back in SWIM's more reckless days he would often combine 100mg of diazepam with 700ml of vodka with no adverse health effects. This is extremely dangerous and I wouldn't encourage any other SWIY's to do this.

I strongly disagree with that. I have read numerous reports of people blacking out after taking large (yes, 2mg of Xanax is a large dose) doses of Xanax and chasing them with alcohol. Many of these stories included elements such as destroyed property, cuts and gashes, and the police. YMMV.


Satisfy my curiosity: why in heaven's name would little Timmy's doctor be prescribing him exactly two 2mg doses of Xanax? That does not sound right to me.

swim and 2 friends took 1 mg xanax a piece on the night we should have died. the effects of alcohol seemed to be delayed in a way, yet amplified in many others. when morning came, we saw an empty 1.75 Liter of everclear and half a liter of root beer schnapps gone. swim was throwing up for days after that incident, and has never been able to ingest that much liquor by itself. one must realize that the synergistic effect of benzodiazepines with alcohol will impair your judgment more severely than one might realize.

exercise moderation between both the xanax and alcohol then tim and bobby should be fine. if the both of them haven't ever taken xanax before, then 2 mg's will just knock them out, ESPECIALLY with alcohol. if tim and bobby have no tolerance, then they would notice even the effects of .5 mg (a standard medical dosage). it is rare that 2 mg would ever be prescribed; i have been prescribed xanax for years and was recently bumped up to 1 mg.

One 2mg pill and one shot of tequila probably isn't going to kill you, but it's still a bad idea. Just 1 xanax bar on someone with no tolerance is more than enough to knock you out or fuck you up if you were to try and stay awake. Honestly taking that much by itself is a waste of drugs in a way, and combining it with alcohol is just going to knock you unconcious and/or make you forget what happened the next day, there's little recreational (or medical) value for that. SWIM would recommend you either pop the bar alone or take half with a shot or two (VERY carefully, pre set limits and monitor your breathing) rather than take that large of an alprazalom dose with alcohol.

because timmy would never take anything that was prescribed to him ofcourse. but thats for the help. also lets say he has some medical marijuana, would a bowl or 2 of mids combine with it well

SWIM normally takes 3-6mg of Xanax and drinks a pint of scotch w/ in a 3 or 4 hours period. Never has had a black out or anything of the sort. I'm not saying that this is common and I wouldn't try it, but some people have naturally high tollerence to some drugs. But when it comes to grass hes a big light weight, he also thinks grass is the worst and grossest most boring drug on the face of the earth. So people also have different preferences.
