Closest thing to MDMA?

I've searched google and all over, And havn't really found an answer for this. So here is the question.


"What prescription drug has effects closest to MDMA?"

Of course there are many prescription drugs that SWIM hasn't tried, but going by what she has tried she would have to say the closest would be GHB. Second would most likely be one of the ADHD drugs, Adderall, Ritalin etc.

As for non-prescription drugs SWIM would again say GHB, followed by methamphetamine. Some of the research chemicals have been reported to be very similar to MDMA, but SWIM has only tried BZP and did not find it resembled MDMA at all.

I had an idea that I was trying to figure out.

Is they're any prescriptions that pretty much just give a euphoric feeling?

And if so, Couldn't you take that drug and and amphetamine to get a feeling very close to MDMA?

Taking a downer like morphine with an upper like amphetamine would be a variation of the "speedball" which usually refers to injecting heroin and cocaine at the same time, but is also a reference for mixing uppers with downers. Many people who have experienced a true speedball report that it is the greatest high they have ever felt. But the risk of OD is much higher, and many people decide against using this method because of the increased risk.

Of course if the drugs are not being mixed and injected the risk of OD is lowered.... Type "speedball" into the forum search engine to get more details on this, or browse the "combinations" forum for experience reports and info on different drug combinations. Always do the research before combining any drugs, whether legal, illegal or prescription.

And yeah, I always thoroughly research a drug before trying it. I've spent many days just surfing the net reading up about all kinds of drugs. I'm suprised I havn't heard of this Speedball tecnique.

Billy Smarts and a friend had 20mgs of Valium and one MDMA containing pill, both parties wanted the MDMA. Billy decided that a blind testing was in order. He got two identical containers and crushed the Valium in one and the MDMA in another, then added water and stirred until dissolved. Billy and his friend covered the containers and mixed them around the table until they had no clue which was which. They drank a few beer then picked a container, closed their eyes and shotted their mix. They smoked a good bit of cannabis and drank a few more beers.

Both parties reported their shot to have a foul bitter taste, both parties reported coming up around the same time, both parties were convinced they were high on MDMA, they both had a very interesting night. Neither ever did find out what they really had ingested and neither of them experienced any comedown or hangover. They report it too have been pretty magic.

As far as perscription drugs go SWIM doesn't have a clue

Methylone bears an uncanny resemblence to MDMA. Though i don't think this is available any longer on the internet.

Propylhexedrine (over the counter Benzedrex inhalers) give swim a light seronin-like ecstasy feeling. Many of swims friends have experimented with it and I would say about 40% report symptoms that strongly remind swim as being MDMA-specific, including highly increased openness and empathy, increased receptivness to touch and that ecstasy specific-electrified feeling.

Its not as strong as MDMA, but swim believes the same effects are there, at least for some people. Swim has no idea why it doesnt seem to manifest in everyone. Also of course its not just MDMA symptoms, theres also of course a lot amphetamine type symptoms there that overshadow the MDMA stuff for most of the experience.

swim would say 2CB taken with 40mg of ADHD amphetamine. SWIM hasn't tried M1.

Methylone is bk-MDMA, 3,4-methylenedioxymethcathinone.

Cathinone is beta-keto amphetamine if i am not mistaken, and is chemicaly very similar to MDMA.
