Combinations - Mushrooms and Benzodiazepines

Has anyone tryed to eat mushrooms and xanax or lorazepam at the same time? My brother did this and claims he didnt feel the shrooms at all

Xanax is used to kill the effects of the mushrooms. They arent good to take together unless your trying to come down.

Once I was having the worst trip in the world. I took a 2mg xanax and within 30 minutes I felt fine. I was still tripping for like 10 more minutes but it basically gone.

I find it only kills your trip in larger doses.

I myself have a pretty anxious and paranoid personality.Nothing too severe but when mushrooms or other psychedelics are added to the equation often times this condition intensifies. Any way, I find that dosing .25 - .50 mg of Xanax gives me a nice mellow mood that goes nicely with the trip. Then on the comedown (especially with acid) ill pop 1 - 2mg and float off into a much needed sleep.
IMO it’s a good Idea to always keep a couple bars on hand incase you or someone else is having a bad trip.

benzos and nerve medication generally does kill trips,but i've still had a few decent experiences when combining xanax and mushrooms/lsd.


from what i can gather,if you have enough psliocybin in your system to overwhelm the xanax,you can still trip,although it kind of made my brain go bye bye for a few hours.

I have a question concerning these two. Would taking xanax the day before a mushroom trip decrease the experance? From what I'm reading it seems that it wouldn't but I wanted to make sure before I blew my money and night.

No taking xanax the night before a mushroom trip wont decrease the potency of the mushrooms. Make sure you have plenty of time for your body to eliminate the xanax so you have energy for the trip, which in SWIMs experience is usually draining itself. I dont know why anyone would want to take xanax in conjuction with mushrooms or LSD, unless your having a bad trip, but normally SWIM finds that he wished he had more energy to enjoy the trip for its entirety, he often mixes like 20-30mg adderral with mushrooms and LSD to ensure physical and mental energy for the whole trip.

Ok so here is my question. Say SWIM takes a xanax the day before he desides to ingest some mushrooms. Would the xanax taken the day before effect his trip? If so, how long would he need to wait till it would not effect it?

I've read of people taking them together and it working. I've read people taking xanax to stop trips. So whats the real deal with these two? Is it love, hate or does it differ per person?

There are a lot of people who take Xanax with mushrooms to ease anxiety,
and therefore have a much better time... although there are also those
who feel that it takes something away from the feel of the trip - suppose
that depends on the person, and also on the amount of each substance
taken.

This is, though, when both drugs are taken simultaneously... Xanax taken
the day beforehand shouldn't effect the trip much, if at all (as opposed to
SSRI's or something).

SWIM is going to be taking an 8th of shrooms this coming weekend. This will be SWIMs 2nd time trying shrooms.

SWIM was wondering if mixing benzos plus smoking some weed would be a fun mix. SWIM realizes he is already taking an 8th of shrroms but still needs to know if mixing benzos+weed with it will be overkill or have a calming relaxing effect.

Any experiences and tips would be great.

Benzodiazepines will reduce anxiety and create a feeling of calm but they will also dull the trip. Cannabis can intensify the experience and create feelings of fear and paranoia.

Doesn't sound like a worthwhile combination to my tree - almost as if they'd just cancel each other out. Why not just stick with the mushrooms, SWIPhuzed?

shrooms+weed for SWIM gives intense periods of unstoppable laughter! but also when it weares out.. SWIm could feel tired..

and shrooms+benzo doesnt take away the visuals but it takes a little of the mindfuck... at some times its a + and sometimes - for the entire experience..

SWIm would rather save a benzo for in caste the trip isn't going so great/mindfuck...
