Drug info - Benzydamine Help

SWIM heard that benzydamine, found in a product called Tantum Rosa for example, can be used for "recreational purpouses" when taken orally (it's normally made for vagina cleansing ). Can somebody offer more info on it's effects, side-effects, doses, contraindications, etc ? SWIM couldn't find any threads about it, very odd.

SWIM tried Tantum Rosa once. SWIM bought one pack of Tantum Rosa from the pharmacy which contains 10 envelopes with a white dust inside.
He put the content of 1 envelope in a glass of water and mix it until almost all of the dust was dissolved.
He drank a little and found that it is extremely salty, almost make him puke. This was expected since Tantum Rosa contains sodium chloride, but SWIM never believed that Tantum Rosa has such a big concentration of sodium chloride in such a small envelope.
SWIM then took a 2 liter bottle of water to help him drink the rest of the glass content. He drank a little from the glass, a little more from the water bottle, he smoked a cigarette to mask the salty taste and give him the guts to continue, repeated this for 3, maybe for 4 times in about 30 minutes until he drank almost all the glass content.
One envelope of Tantum Rosa has 500mg of Benzydamine, SWIM drank around 400-450mg of this.
SWIM went to bed around 1 AM and waited for something to happen. And waited some more... Around 2 AM SWIM started to feel his feet and arms a little numbed, pretty pleasurable, a small buzz like he had on a small dose of DXM. He had a little stomach discomfort but he was anxious to trip on Benzydamine. And he did started to trip, his thoughts went to his past life and some mistakes that he made. The numbness was still there and that buzz, although very subtle, was pleasurable. At some times during the night he might have fell asleep, but he is not sure since he didn't open his eyes while tripping, being afraid that he might throw up still feeling the nasty salty taste in his mouth. He didn't even moved too much for the same reason and anyway the body high was good.
SWIM opened his eyes around 6 AM, feeling like he had woken up from a good sleep, pretty energetic and his mind was still processing a lot of thoughts. It started to be light outside and when he looked in the direction of his window SWIM saw some bizzare light lines that he never saw there before. SWIM had a smile on his face when he realized that he might be hallucinating. He took his mobile phone from the bed table to check the time. It was around 6 AM, but this wasn't a big surprise for him. The surprise came when he moved the phone which had the backlight still turned on and SWIM saw the phone moving very choppy and leaving trails behind it. He played with the phone a couple of minutes and then got up from his bed moving towards the window. SWIM saw trails when he moved his arms, saw trails from the cars passing on the road when he looked outside, and the light that entered the window was brighter and full of glowing lines.
SWIM's movement was a little unbalanced so he decided to go back to bed and fell asleep, considering that he had to woke up around 9 AM and go to work. One stupid thing from SWIM was to try a new drug on Monday night when he had work the next day. Back to bed he couldn't sleep, the thoughts keep running inside his head, he opened his eyes several times and enjoyed the sunrise outside that sent incredible glowing lights through his window. He finally fell asleep for some time around 8 AM and got up an hour later still seeing the strange light behaviour. He had to do something and end this trip as soon as possible since he couldn't drive with all these visuals. He drank one cup of coffee, smoked some cigarettes and drank a lot of water. SWIM puked from the coffee, because it had a strange reaction in his stomach, and it gave him a nasty salty taste in his mouth. He drank some more water to clean his system, pissed a lot and around 10 AM felt that he is ready to drive, since all the visuals we're gone and he had a good balance.
SWIM got to work with no problem. There he had a lot of mind trips during the day, wasn't able to concentrate on his work. He was exhausted from the lack of sleep. That evening after he got home SWIM finally got a real sleep.
SWIM doesn't want to experience again Tantum Rosa pretty soon unless he finds one way to get rid of the sodium chloride in it, since this gave him a really nasty feeling in the stomach that took a lot from the magic of the trip. Benzydamine is a powerful drug, but it should be taken responsible, and make sure the next day SWIY don't have to do something that may require attention. SWIM is very slim, so this probably was a big dose for him for the first time.

SWIM took only half of the content of one envelope, so about 250 mg benzydamine. SWIM took it with a very small quantity of water so it was not that disgusting, SWIY should try doing that. Just put some water on the bottom of the glass and disolve the powder in it then drink it like SWIY would a shot of tequilla. The trip was not very intense for SWIM since the quantity was relatively small, but it was still pleasurable. SWIM is concerned with the side-effects of this. Does SWIY know anything about the subject?

The product name is 'Tantum Rosa', the one SWIM bought is manufactured by Angelini A.C.R.A.F.S.p.A. Italy and distributed by CSC Pharmaceuticals Handels GmbH (Viena, Austria).

In SWIM's country it can be found in all farmacies, sold for XXX euro/envelope without prescription. Any info on those side effects?

There is little information on this, at least when it comes to recreational use.... Anyone known its pharmacology??

SWIM and his friends decided to experiment tantum rosa one night so they bought some envelopes. They were told by a little birdy who had already taken tantum that in order to get rid of the salty taste (stormeru lost most of his trip because of that, probably) they should put the shite in napkins and then swallow the whole thing. That sounded weird and hard to do, but it sure is a lot better than feeling all that salt in your throat. So one must be very careful so the stuff doesn't get out of the napkin until you've completely swallowed it.
So there were 4 tantum noobs (2 male, 2 female) getting ready for a drug experimeting group trip. And they also got a sitter (having one is always recommended with a new drug, as you don't know how you will react). SWIM took the highest amount of tantum of all 4 noobs(more than 2 envelopes). The other male of the group took 2 and the 2 females took only half an envelope each.
After about an hour the visual effects kicked in. Actually, this is mostly what tantum rosa is about, a magnificent visual show. After a few hours as swim walked on the streets, all the street lights were connected through radiant lines and there were bats above his head. Lights were really bouncing in a playful and fascinating way and at one point swim could see everything as he was looking from a bubble. And his hands and other people's entire bodies left long traces like in those cheesy 80's videos.
The best thing about tantum was that swim could see things that weren't there but they looked very real. For example, looking at his friend as he transformed into another person each 5 seconds really fascinated him. Then, seeing things coming out of his ears that seemed so real that they didn't disappear until he tried to put his hands on them.
The best trip was when swim looked at a light bulb and he saw an alternate universe. A beautiful garden was surrounding the light bulb and an old man kneeled to it. At that moment swim felt as if he was peeking on a window to another universe.
SWIM felt the urge to talk especially to the sitter and all he talked was nonsense (unlike theories inspired by cannabis or dxm that might even be ingenious) and if he got interrupted from what he was saying he had to be remembered the topic, otherwise he couldn't continue the discussion.
After about 6-7 hours of tripping swim tried to sleep but couldn't and if he closed his eyes he could see fast succeeding images or, again, nonsenses. Like an angry centaurus biting a wooden statue or swim and his friends inventing a new tv show that made absolutely no sense but made everyone laugh.

DXM also has visual effects, but there is a considerable difference between tantum's and dxm's visual effects. dxm is far more psychedelic and requires more concentration, while tantum is more concrete and random. swim preffers dxm.

Side effects? Even if swim has been taking a lot of dxm in the past year, he's never felt his brain so fried as he felt it after tantum rosa. It might have had something to do with the fact that he took more than 2 envelopes of the stuff but still, tantum rosa definitely is more brain-frying than dxm. Swim would scratch his head 24 hours after the trip and he couldn't feel it.

Conclusion: tantum rosa is certainly worth trying (especially for all you drug experimenters out there), even on a high dose, but it's not a thing one would like to do often.

Bezydamine is far from "nice".
It provides interesting trip, but leaves one pale, shaky and exhausted after hours of illusions and true hallucinations (predominatly visual, but auditory and tactile too). They can be unreal and fairy-tale like, but also quite evocative, leading to moments confusion, fear and outright terror. Fortunately, most of the time user is fully aware of his state being effect of ingesting deleriant so there is no real risk of doing something insane (contary to datura effects).
My pet Alf did benzydamine years ago, many times, about 20 I guess, maybe more (shudder). It was Benalgin pills, containing 50mg of benzydamine each, at least this is what I found on-line now. Alf says eating 10 was too little, 15 tablets was enough, 20 provided full-blown show. So, this would mean 750-1000mg being efficient dose.I couldn't find any info on long-term side effects.

All Tantum products seem to contain benyzdamine and from what I read there is an easy method of extraction from Tantum Rosa, so one doesn't have to drink lots of salt.

SWIM experienced a lot with psychoactives,and he always likes to experiment new things .When SWIM wants to try a new drug,he always researches alot before doing it, sometimes declining due to damage or addiction threat.

SWIM couldn`t find very much about benydamine so he decided to share his impressions.

1. Tantum rosa extraction method: dizolve the powder in about 30-50 ml plain water,pour it on a coffee filter paper, let the salty water to to pass the paper, then collect the ramaining powder,put it in a glass ,add some water and enjoy (thats the only extraction method SWIM`s mind managed to do, SWIM knows that its kind of brutal but SWIM would also apreciate SWIY`s chemistry knowledge )

2.The tripping:

the effects start to kick in in about 30 minutes, increasing in strenght fot another 1/2-1h.
the mind remains completly awake, so SWIM managed to talk with his parents while triping.
SWIY will experience visual effect,like huge vapor trails (tracers), a bit of color booster and a lot of philosophycal taling.

AFOAF sayid that he saw small light circels flying around,in fact they are delayd vapor trails from light sources.

the set and setting is quite important, SWIM and AFOA preffer well illuminated places.

As a second effect, benzydamine is a CNS stimulant, so SWIY will have trouble getting to sleep at night.

Benzydamine alone is kind of boring, SWIM enjoys it mixed with weed or other legal smoking blends.
