Trends Adrenaline is the new party drug in NT

Adrenaline is known as the fight/flight hormone. It's depending on someones state how it will work. At the proper dose and mental state its should, however, give a pleasent rush. Think about all those adrenaline junkies who base jump of high places to get an adrenaline rush. It has to be noted that under dangerous (scary) circumstances the body glands also release some noradrenaline together with the adrenaline.

Swim suffered several years ago at an overactive kidney gland (can't find the proper name) by which he had an higher level of adrenaline in his blood then normal, which caused a higher blood pressure, a higher physical activity and aggressivity then considered normal.

None of you will set foot in the Lab of Bongo. He had a glass-sealed ampule 0f Epinephrine. No - he didn't shoot it up and act like a horney schoolgirl trapped in a gay bar.

He oxidized it to adrenochome and then did an alkaline re-arrangement to adrenolutin. Having tried a calculated dosage, he was informed this was the day his psychology class was to visit a mental-hospital! Hurry! Hurry! Oh boy!

(Basically echoing what's be said here) Adrenalin is an actual trade name for epinephrine in the US.

Aside from its utility in thwarting severe allergic reactions, it can also be used topically on small wounds/incisions to stop bleeding without leaving a scar. (If one has a suspicious mole on the face biopsied, for instance.)

Or if a guy decides to inject a bunch of it right before shaving, I suppose.

SWIM wonders but does not want to experience what adrenolutin is.
SWIM finds epinephrine useful as a local vasoconstrictor in combination with lidocaine and a small amount of bicarbonate.
SWIM also finds it useful on occasion to start an asystolic heart.
However, recreationally it is useless.
SWIM once tried to smoke some ground up cow adrenals when in jr high school and found it to cause minor heart rate elavation and anxiety. Same with local anesthesia with lidocaine - pounding, rapid heartrate and anxiety.
Useless in terms of fun....

Adrenolutin is the alkaline re-arrangement product of adrenochrome. As such it's more stable than the latter. Once thought to be the chemical cause of schizophrenia (utterly dismissed by all but one or two shrinks who collect barbed-wire and pull the wings off of butterflies), it was found that adrenochrome and adrenolutin produce a mild sort of psychedelic high. Subtle was the word used by Timothy Leary (on one of his coherent days).

SWIM was injected with pure, unadulterated Adrenaline after an allergic reaction (to gherkins, believe it or not) when he was 12. Since then SWIM has used DXM, Ketamine, Cannabis, LSD, Codeine and drank copious amounts of Ayahuasca "tea".

None of the above comes anywhere NEAR to how scary Adrenaline feels. No matter how much ANYONE (including medical professionals) tried to convince SWIM he was not having a heart attack, he still believed he either was or was very close to.

The only thing that has ever come close to the injection of Adrenaline was when SWIM (recently) overdosed on Caffeine pills. (...how the fuck was he to know they also sold "double strength" ones in very similar boxes!?). Incidentally, NO - all you desperate SWIYS out there - you can't have fun overdosing on Caffeine. Srsly.

Seems like a lot of people have been given a shot of adrenaline for an allergic reaction.
I've never had any adrenaline but I seriously don't think it's a "party drug".
I guess people are just desperate...

People aren't desperate, they are ignorant.

Very few people understand, much less care, about the how/why of drugs and their workings. Having limited knowledge, many draw the conclusion adrenaline could be or is recreational.

People (or more accurately aboriginals) living in the Northern Territory are ill educated,desperate and ignorant.
Having lived up there for a few months this comes as no surprise to swim.
It is probably abouton par with the drinking of meths,goon and whatever other horrible shit alot of them drink daily....
Substance abuse(mostly Alcohol and Glue) seems to be a very big problem in alot of Aboriginal communitys in the NT.

I totally agree.They probably don't even know what adrenaline really is and many of them probably never used real drugs so they don't know what being "high" is like.
So they take whatever substance makes them feel "different" and think that's a high.

I dont think its a particularly outworldly conclusion to make, many people enjoy the adrenaline rush from sports like rock climbing or other extreme sports so why should giving yourself that adrenaline by another means feel any differant?

although it is quite Inaccurate it is a logical thought path.

There is no fucking way anyone is actually doing adrenaline. There is almost absolutely no way anyone could find it to be more than 'mildly unpleasant'.

I kind of suspect this is some liquid preparation of an rc which got slapped with the name by some clever dealer.

swim very,very much doubts this is an RC!!!!
Most likely some aboriginal has stolen some adrenalin from an ambulance or medical centre and has probably tried it 1nce or something and the rest is likely media hype!!!
ALOT of these aboriginals are substances abusers,and very few would have access to the internet let alone RCs!!!!

Yea SWIM loves the feeling of adrenalin running through his system, like after running from police, being in a fight, a game of rugby, intense sex session. I can almost understand why one would try it but at the same time has heard that it is not typically fun or mind expanding.

SWIM never heard anyone using adrenalin, and he's been in Australia for about 17 years of his short 18 year life (the last 18 months travelling the world). Parties in the Northern Territory?? I think they are called "Binges" there. It is tough to say but the rampant abuse of almost anything avaliable is a big problem with the indiginous Australian (Aboriginals), SWIM even saw a group of young "Abo's" huffing and chromin' on some fuel from a gas station that only sold OPAL fuel which has been altered to have like near nothing of a mind altering affect. It is tough to see and SWIM shows alot of sympathy for members of these comunities, especially after his time in darwin, which is very heavy in Aboriginal population.

As for that fella from the US, SWIdarawk or sumthing, sayin something like "Australians are stupid", that is a bit of a big claim man, I could easily pull 100 stupid stories or stupid things that Americans have done, infact im sure one look at any daily US paper will back me up on this. I am a Tri citezen. Euro, American and Australian, and in my travels it is quite obvios to me that stupidity doesn't stop at any border, so mayby watch your tongue a little bit, kay?

swim has epi-pens (adrenaline injections) for allergies. Last time she went into anaphylaxis she had 3 adrenaline injections.. later in the hospital she was buzzing and laughing at everything. so swim understands why people would use adrenaline recreationally.

BUT...
it needs to be injected into muscle, and is very painful. so swim doesnt see the appeal of that. After being injected in the thigh swim couldnt walk for 2 days!

stick to speed if people are after that kinda high.. saves the needle thing as well

An adrenaline rush is not the same is injecting pure adrenaline. In an adrenaline rush there is also the endorphin (opiate like chemicals) component.
