hepatitis c

I was diagnoised with hep c three years ago , I was at first scared, then I enrolled into a support group and started the treatments and after that I was clear from any viral load , I have quite a bit of knowledge on the subject so if any one has any question about the treatment or spreading it , then I will be glad to answer any those questions .

I want to give back to the forum instead of just taking, when I first got here I didn't know a thing about chemistry , I was able to pick up quite a bit of knowledge in a short time, so I would like to be able to return the favor .

Pamela Anderson has hepatitis c.

But do you know how you got it? And can it be a STD? Always wondered why people still get with pam if it can be a STD.

Re: hepatitis c

when i was younger i was a little wreckless, i shot after someone.
I have been married twice and niether wife contracted it.
The books that I ve read on the subject of sex and hep c, stats that it is very very rare that it is passed in that manner, it is blood to blood. Tooth brushes are a common method aswell as straws and rolled up money, when placed in the nose it picks up small traces of blood, so dont share straws or the like. pam may have gotten it from a tattoo gun it is another hi risk

Re: hepatitis c

Swim red once a book of an doctor who use to work for the US equivalent of the WHO. According him about 70% of the population of Karachi (Pakistan) contiminated with Hepatitus C due to unstirela practices at local medical services. He also menitioned a new strain of Hepatitus, Hepatitus C2, which is more contagious (comparable with Hepatitus B).

The book was written, if Swim remember well, around 1995. The title Swim has to look up in is [old] handwritten notes - if someone is interested.

there are many strains of hep c, I had geneo type 2b which responds well to the interferon, now don't get me wrong its hep c not hep b which is more dangerous and is spread thru sex as well as blood,

Re: hepatitis c

Hepatitus C is he most dangerous to have, one will end up with complete liver failure due to liver cirrhosis. Hepatitus B is to most contagious one, it can survive three weeks in a dried drop of blood and contaminate an other human been. But what is more, the dutch health service denies that there something like Hepatitus C2.

this is not completely true, many people who have hep c do not even know it, and it isn't always fatal , some people have it for a very long time and it doesn't progress to cirrhosis, or even a high viral load. I can be with a person until they die of old age .

As far as Hep B there is a vaccination for it , while there isn't a shot to prevent Hep c

Question Re: hepatitis c

Glad I found this thread! I was just searching through the search engine reading a bunch of different results (threads).

Firstly, I hope you are doing fine and that your condition is stable.

Okay, so most recently a family member of mine has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and it's affected his liver as well as his mind (slurred speech, mental confusion); I was just curious in your experience what are some beneficial herbs that can help his situation, I already have a general idea of some, such as Silymarin containing products such as Milk Thistle, also I'm aware Acetylcysteine can be quite beneficial as well.

However any extra advice/suggestion would be appreciated.

.peace.

Re: hepatitis c

I've been pretty curious about this actually. People have always asked swim "are you not worried about getting aids or hepatitis" about his IV use, but he always replies with "why the fuck would I worry about that, I don't share needles."

There's no possible way to get any hep from solitary IV use, is there? Swim never shares anything (water, spoons, filters), so is there anyway he can get anything? other than endocarditis, which I hear is a pretty nasty thing to have.

And is there a Hepatitis A?

sigh...

getting a tattoo puts you at no higher risk of getting hep c than getting your teeth cleaned at the dentist or any other medical procedure than has the potential of breaking skin.

it all comes down to proper sterilization of equipment and taking measures to prevent cross contamination during the procedure (ie: barrier tape). i dont know where you are from, but where i live it is a requirement for tattoo artists to take government approved courses on preventing disease transmission and sterilization techniques in addition to what is already taught in your apprenticeship.

if you consider tattooing a high risk, than you have to consider visits to the dentist and the doctor as high risk also. you face just as much risk of being exposed to hep c walking into a dentists office as you do walking into a tattoo shop.

Re: hepatitis c

Yes, of course. It's a virus. You can only get hepatitis C (and any other viral disease) when coming in direct contact with the virus. In the case of hepatitis C, this contact is blood-blood contact; in the case of HIV, sexual contact is enough; some virii are also airborne (for example influenza), etc.

Re: hepatitis c

people always act like getting stuck with someone else's needle will give them Hepatitis of some sorts. But as long as the person didn't have hepatitis, it would be fine.

a guy goes to his doctor and tells him that he's been shooting heroin for the past year. The doctor asks him if he knows about the risks of contracting HIV and Hepatitis, and he says yeah. The doctor asks what precautions he takes, and the guy says "We always pass to the yellow guy last."

As mentioned before in this thread, one can have the virus and not know it. Re-using one's own needles - acceptable. Using someone else's - not quite.

Re: hepatitis c

swij's sister's boyfriend once walked into one of swij's needles that was on the ground (he was in the process of using it, he didn't just leave it laying there uncapped) and literally started to freak the fuck out because it pricked his toe (through his sock). swij tried telling him that swij couldn't have anything because he had never shared anything (swij had actually never even shot up with anyone else) but he was positive that he was somehow gonna get something, just from sharing (clean) blood.

Swij's sister's dealer also told her that if swij ever used any of her spoons to throw them away because no matter how clean you get them, you can't wash off the hep c, and that since swij had used the same needles repeatedly, he definitely had it.

stupid assholes. can hepc even be shared through saliva (eating with a used spoon, etc.)?

with hep c in particular, symptoms may not be seen for a very long time...a person could spread it for years and never know they are carrying it.

yes, but unless swij screwed someone with it (which it doesn't sound commonly shared this way), there is no way swij could have it unless from birth or something.

swij got tested for it anyways, but i'm just wondering how it can be obtained.

Blood to blood contact.
Transmitted through sexual contact.
Or the good ol sharing of sticks (needles)

It sounds like this family member needs more than the homeopathic methods, They should find out their viral load, get a bioposy, find out what type of Hep C they have also, there are like 7 types of hep c, and lastly get on the shots of the proper medication. BYthe way mine has cleared , the 6months of taking a shot a week in the stomache has worked.

Re: hepatitis c

for sure, as well as transmission thru tooth brushes, shavers, straws used in the nose, open sores and tears in vaginal and anal walls. Tattoo guns if they arent cleaned properly more specificly the needle.
actually the needles are supposed to be new for each customer, the problem isnt usually at the tattoo parlors but can be a problem with homemade tats. just because of the potential to re use needles
