Piss Cops
A friend of swims' has had a bad meth habit. For legality reasons he got himself an adderall prescription, so if he was ever involved in a incident where he would be required to take a piss test or blood test, he could claim the positive reading was due to the adderall. Is he just pissing in the wind, or is he right, that the piss cops can't differenate whether a person was on adderall or meth, just that they found amphetamines in his system.

Re: Piss Cops
Sorry, but N-methyl-amphetamines (in this case meth) will show up as meth/MDMA on a screen, not as amphetamine.

Re: Piss Cops
Adderall does not contain Methamphetamine.
BUT...If you're friend went and got a prescription of "Desoxyn" Then he would pass the drug test. Desoxyn is prescribed when neither Ritalin nor Adderall is working for the person. Desoxyn is pure Methamphetamine. |

Re: Piss Cops
i dont know how detailed their tests would be, but i was once hospitalized & tested for drugs while i was unconscious, & upon awakening i was counseled on drinking (reason i was in there), and the lady also told me that i had "tested positive for methamphetamine." the only thing i had taken was an adderall a few days earlier, and this was in one of the most respected hospitals in the area...

Re: Piss Cops
I have heard of cops and tests mistaking MDMA and Meth but not Adderall with either. I suppose if they just tested for amphetamines in general they could just make the assumption.

Re: Piss Cops
If your friend was being tested for drugs by investigators who suspected him as a methamphetamine user, I'm sure they could discern and prove his habit... because science is usually capable of determining the truth and the truth is, your friend's system is full of meth. But in more minor incidents it might provide a useful layer of plausible deniability. If he was detected in a random drug test by an employer, for example, he could insist it was a misreading due to his prescription to Adderall in order to A) try to save his job, and B) defend himself against other people who heard of his test results and the accusations, allowing him to deny that he is a drug user. I suspect he got the script for that reason and not thinking it would be an iron-clad defense against drug tests.
