GBL 99,9 or GBL 99,7

Should I prefer GBL 99,9 even when it is 40% more expensive than 99,7% ?

i wouldent worry about the purity if it was that low and money is an issue,but its your body/money.whats in the other 0.1-0.3%??

Just because one says 99.94 does not in any way make it more or less safer than 99.7. It depends on what additional "ingredients" make up the difference.

I agree with Mr G - check the specification. Here's an example spec for GBL from a supplier in the UK. I've seen similar from other suppliers too:

Another thing you sometimes see is "EL" or "Electronic specification", which puts limits on the levels of some impurities which are of concern for electronics use. Sometimes the maximum levels of these impurities is also give, for example:

Chloride, wt. ppm max  	0.30
Sulfate, wt. ppm max 	1.00
Nitrate, wt. ppm max 	1.00
Iron, wt. ppm max 	0.05
Copper, wt. ppm max 	0.05
Zinc, wt. ppm max 	0.05
Lead, wt. ppm max 	0.05
Sodium, wt. ppm max 	0.50
Potassium, wt. ppm max 	0.50

It should always be as pure as possible, especially if one is planning on selling it. However, the line must be drawn somewhere.

Swic agrees with fnord and wouldnt worry about it.
Just because a a website says it's 99,99% doesn't mean it is. For all we know 99,7 could turn out to be more pure.

You can always buy a small amount from both websites and test them to see which one is better.

99.7 is very pure, 99.9 is even more very pure. Almost impossibly pure. SWINC has had the very interesting discussion with a friend about how pure a compound can be produced. They didn't come up with a good answer.

Unless the GBL has a very, very, extremely, supermegaloco poisonous impurity, it will not matter if SWIY chooses the 99.7 or the 99.9. The stated percentage is most likely not entirely accurate, especially not those with two decimals.
