Is this what is often referred to as 'ayahuasca tourism'? I sort of got that
impression from the website, but I've never looked into these things before. Well, I see one of the workshop teachers wrote articles for MAPS, that's a good sign.Edited by: radiometer |

Re: Ayahuasca Healing Retreat Programs
Ayahuasca Healing Retreat: Beyond the Sixth Sense
Tapping into your mind's infinite potential June 15 - 26, 2008 Bahia, Brazil bahia.jpg “If you are a true psychonaut, if you want your reality to be altered, if you want to walk for a moment in the Shaman’s shoes or if you want to find the warrior within, then, the Beyond the Sixth Sense program is for you. Prepare for a rollercoaster experience of your life.” ~ Brian Colbert, Master Trainer of NLP co-founder The Irish Institute of NLP In this newly developed 11-day intensive program geared towards those who wish to develop or enhance their psychic abilities, various methods and exercises to help increase psychic functioning are explored, including the ability to awaken within one's own dream, also known as lucid dreaming and remote viewing - the ability to receive psychic impressions about a person or event regardless of space and time. For more detailed information about this Advanced program click HERE. As part of this Ayahuasca Healing Retreats program, participants will have the opportunity to sample Silene capensis - a sacred plant which shamans of the verdant river valleys of the eastern cape province of South Africa claim has the ability to induce remarkably vivid dreams. An atmosphere conducive to psi functioning is prepared and maintained through both special workshops and exercises. Daily discussions about the paranormal aspect of reality are encouraged and part of this experiential program. Also towards this end, films and documentaries depicting the supernatural are shown on a nightly basis. Different methods of experiencing ayahuasca are also addressed and practiced during this advanced program including day-time, open-eyed sessions. Participants have the opportunity to participate in up to five ayahuasca ceremonies and three with Silene capensis. The price for this 11-day retreat is €2,100 EUR per person. The price includes: your own lucid dreaming micro computer-based sleep mask (US$300 value) and study materials, double occupancy room (private quarters available at a slightly higher price. Please inquire.), all activities and workshops and meals. The plant ceremonies are free to retreat participants. Not included in price: airfare, airport taxes or transportation to the hotel, tips, laundry nor any other activity or service from the lodge not specified herein or part of our retreat. What is Ayahuasca? Ayahuasca is an ancient shamanic plant medicine, used for millennia by the Indians of the Amazon to heal the mind, body and spirit as well as explore other realms of existence. The tea, made from the brewing of two Amazonian plants (Banisteriopsis caapi and Psychotria viridis), often engenders powerful visions in the drinker, allowing them to work through unresolved psychological issues, heal and transcend mental distress, and access inner strength and personal power. The three to eight hours of the ayahuasca journey has been likened by some to years of psychological therapy. The Ayahuasca Healing Retreats have been created by Silvia Polivoy, a licensed clinical psychologist, who, having worked and trained with Peruvian and Mexican shamans, recognized the immense contemporary worth of these ancient traditions. The central tenet of her retreats is self-empowerment. Participants focus on how to access hidden resources of inner strength and personal power that stem from the shaman that is within us all: the higher self. The experience of the sessions can be challenging for some. Much of our sometimes cumbersome psychological armament can be – for the time of the session – dismantled. What Silvia recognized is that, if she could create a safe framework of loving encouragement, retreat participants would be able to better direct their own healing and self-exploration as well as do much more powerful inner work. The retreats are held in our private eco center inside of 39 acres of lush preserved area. It is located 7 miles from Itacare on the cost of Bahia. Our location is only minutes away from beautiful coastal beaches, which back onto the Mata Atlantica, the second largest rainforest in the country. Silvia and her changing team of facilitators and visiting teachers, bring ample knowledge of their particular fields, humour, and great reserves of intuitive kindness into the mix, leaving participants with radiant smiles and a renewed sense of self after one of these retreats. We fully expect you have lots of questions about the plant, the retreats, and the facilities we offer. Please feel free to explore the site.
