Canadian Mental Health Act
My cat has been putting off his wisdom teeth extraction and having another more serious problem checked out for several years because
he has completely lost any respect for the Candian medical services. He has been physically restrained for 1 week. They locked him in a room and wouldn't let him go to the bathroom, so he pissed in the Surrey Memorial Hospital garbage can in the little room BIG MISTAKE - this resulted in his certification as "insane" and He LOST ALL HIS HUMAN RIGHTS FOR 1 WEEK (Padded room, metal toilet) until the doctor came back from vaction and saw him for the second time and released him. He didn't have an option because Frosty is definately not crazy and he had a whole week to realize that it was his responsibility to prove that to the staff before he could have his human rights back.) Are there any countries where a person (or a cat) can go and talk to a doctor without risking being "certified" (read: incarcerated). My cat is starting to develop an opiate tolerance. Undermedication is also a concern. Are there any countries where undermedication is not a concern (ie: OTC Codeine like Canada) that also have good medical services that don't lock you up?
