SWIM demo-ing Vynance. Anybody here with experience?

Swim is prescribed amphetamine based medication from psychiatrist and it has been helpful. SWIM is closely monitored for health. SWIM doesn't feel urges to abuse.

SWIM has been on Adderall XR with a straight Adderall 10mg IF necessary at end of day. SWIM started a few years ago with Dexedrine Spanules. SWIM had best intended response with that medication. Then SWIM went to germany to work for a few years and only had access to Ritalin. Which Swim did not like. Returning to US Swim started the adderall as was least $$ impact with insurance.

Swims doctor's practice was a key participant in Vynance study. It has only been released last week. Swim is going to try it with doctor's advice and monitoring. There is hope it will be more effective as it supposedly evolves into the same compound as dexedrine.

Anyone been monitoring it? I didn't find anything with a search.

my mistake it is called vyvanse anyways according to wiki, "25mg of vyvanse
equals 10mg of dexedrine spansules" and 150mg produces euphoria.swim has not personally used this substance

Re: SWIM demo-ing Vynance. Anybody here with experience?

I believe the only purpose in this drug is to prevent abuse, seeing as how the only way to get to the d-amp is to hydrolize and rid itself of the attatched lysine molecule. This means snorting will not produce any immediate effects. The wiki article makes it seem like this is some new pro-drug that could be active but essentially it's just d-amp with a lysine molecule attatched....

Re: SWIM demo-ing Vynance. Anybody here with experience?

Well its only been two days and not really a good basis to judge since I also started using my new CPAP machine. Seems much smoother, but I think the dosage is too low.

Like I said, I take it medically. I've only used my adderall recreationally once or twice and once was to keep me going through the day until I got to my hotel room on a business trip after a heavy drinking night.

I'll let you know more I guess if you're interested. Although since it has low abuse potential maybe you aren't.

I was willing to try it because I responded best to dexedrine, followed by adderall. Ritalin sucked.

This is not a med to be used recreationally, this is pretty much why it was developed. When used as it should be, it should be as effective as adderall but with a slower reaction. If swiy is waiting for euphoria, it probably won't happen with this one. This is a newer drug from what I gather as I am looking into this one for valid add reasons for kiddos.

Yup. That is SWIMs understanding. Apparently it is broken down in the intestinal tract, which swim doesn't quite understand; however, that may make it less prone to being interferred with by acids in the stomach.

Swim thinks after day 3 that the 30mg is a bit too weak for him. FWIW- Swim really has never benefited from the few attempts to use this class of prescription drugs for his add recreationally. The most he feels is "awake-r" and a bit jittery. No euphoria like with cola.

Swim takes breaks from medical routine and has often had whole monthly bottles unused on a shelf for weeks and no temptations.

Swim is no angel though with stimulants. He does enjoy the effect of cocaine and trys to stay away from it.

Re: SWIM demo-ing Vynance. Anybody here with experience?

SWIM has had two weeks experience with Vyvanse. He was previously prescribed 40mg XR. He is now taking 90mg Vyvanse.

In SWIM's experience, the pros and cons of Vyvanse as opposed to Adderall/Adderall XR goes as follows:

PROS
-much smoother duration; almost none of the negative physical side effects of Adderall have been noticed with Vyvanse. No stomach cramps, no dry mouth, no jaw-clenching.
-SWIM feels less "drugged". SWIM can easily get tired or hungry, whereas he could not with Adderall

CONS
-Vyvanse lacks that "kick" that one feels from Adderall. In the past, SWIM would take his Adderall upon waking and, within 30 minutes, SWIM would be on his feet/good to go.
-***The absence of the "kick" deserves to be mentioned twice as it is a very significant problem for SWIM.
