Storing - Drying Mushrooms with a Food Dehydrator

my friend just dried a few ounces with a food dehydrator and has to sell them today due to the fact he cant afford to eat/drink beer hes looked around the forum and noticed a few people recommend food dehydrators,is this a good idea?has anyone tryed this method and other methods?how does the potency compare?he knows the best is silica but dosent have any,

This does work, and if kept on the lowest heat setting it should not be a problem for potency. On the lowest setting with full levels on the rack it can take a day or two to dry though. It's not a bad idea once it gets going to see how much heat is being put out using a thermometer.

is 160 too hot to touch with your hand comfortably?

It's too hot for mushrooms and it would be uncomfortable to say stick one's hand in water that hot for more than a few seconds, think about a hot tub that is 102 degrees, it can be hard to get into, now add 60% to that.
