A friend of mine has endulged in ALOT of drugs in the last 3 months, including ounces of weed, 1.5g coke, 100+ Es and most recently over a gram of Ketamine (favorite
), and has noticed that his hands (and everwhere else infact) seem less sensitive than before..he finds himself returning from the bathroom forgetting to dry his hands after washing them because he cannot feel that they are wet? (unless there is a large drip trickling along his skin..) is this a possible side affect of all the.. ill repute? is it normal for people to be able to tell when their hands are wet? (cold water) as he cant really remember much of.. pre-medicated life. Thanks

Re: reduction in sensation/sensitivity in hands?
Yes, this sounds like nerve damage. Tell the friend to lay off of substances for a while (or for good). Nerve damage isn't a joke and can lead to other nasty problems.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to visit with a neurologist either, but if your friend goes there therapy will go alot further if he tells them he had done ketamine and whatever else and is honest with them. Doctors have confidentiality agreements they must stand by and usually the only time they can interfere is when self-harm is an issue. So obviously have him say he is not and has not used ketamine for quite some time, doing much better except for the nerves/lack of sensation, and has stopped hanging out with the influential ketamine provider as of 2 months ago, something like that... and ask them to keep it only in the medical charts of the neurology division. Hope that helps. Last edited by tayo; 11-07-2007 at 03:55. |

Re: reduction in sensation/sensitivity in hands?
SWIM told me that he experienced same, for 1-2 days after snorting K, he doesn't have such experience with IMing. So SWIM thinks it is actually no serious problem at all if it goes away 2 days after last K use. SWIM thinks some Ketamine may remain in nostrils or somehow absorbed over the next days, so it can cause numbness, which can be felt more easily in hands.
Anyway, SWIM is okay now and never had any problem with IMing so it should not be nerve damage or something like that. |
