Phragmites grass and other issues...

Any one have any experience using rhizomes from Phragmites grass? Any useful changes to the crystallization procedure?

Should the liquid boil off in the first stage, could the product still be viable if water was again added?

Heard of a guy who did a exploratory extraction of 500 grams of commercially obtained phragmites australis/communis rhizomes using xylene. The results were some oil that smelled of corn and little else.

I have also heard of others who have had successful results but pulled a blend of tryptamines.

Speaking generally, unless you've no alternative or are working with material of known virtue, avoid working with plants from the graminae family.
