A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
This could really go under any pychedelic froum, but it'll go here, as Savia is both the substance with which my subject has had the most recent experience AND the most intense visuals.
I've learned here that a "true" hallucination is one that is indistinguishable from reality, and that most hallucinogens (thankfully) fall short. However, when talking about visuals, does SWIY literally see something that's not there? When my subject "sees" CEV's, they're usually akin to vivdly imagined images and not REALLY visible. His most intense CEV was visible to an extent, but akin to the spots one sees when rubbing one's eyes and not likely to be confused with anything real. His most intense OEVs were fractals streaming off of furniture in his apt, but, once again, he's not so much sure he ever "saw" anything as much as he had a very vivid imagination was planted in his brain. Just curious if SWIY ever literally saw anything (on any substance or combination therof) and what the necessary dose was? |

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
Up to this point, SWIM has never got any visuals, CE or OE, and doubts he ever will. This honestly doesn't bother SWIM very much. Even on a very high dose of Salvinorin A with open eyes, SWIM gets ridiculously dissociated but everything in his field of vision remains the same. He is no longer able to process what he is seeing, yes, but he still sees exactly the same thing.

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
My pet has never had any OEV other than distorsion of space a size of the elements, even with insane doses of psylocibes. No walls breathing, no lights no melting.....

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
^My cat has seen all kinds of visuals in its time-- patterns, breathing walls, melting scenarios, vast lanscapes, deep holes, horrible apparitions... Some people are more visually oriented than others, it seems.

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
SWIM has seen all sorts of visuals and will describe to the best of his abilities..
CEVs: Close SWIY's eyes and SWIY will see an insane amount of patterns. SWIY will usually know that once SWIY open's SWIY's eyes, they will still be in reality. Example: geometric patters, scenarios (SWIM once saw his entire room with his eyes closed, even when he moved around, except instead of in boring color, it was like all made of light....like in Matrix Revolutions) OEVs: Open SWIY's eyes, and SWIY will usually see things that aren't there, however SWIY will most of the time know that it is not "right" with the real world, and will take that into account (so not confusing with reality). Example: SWIM saw horses and chariots riding around in front of him, many of them until this mural of chariots encapsulated his body and turned into an out of body experience. SWIM still knew this was not "right" but didn't think about it. True hallucinations as only Lady Salvia can delver: An entire scenario which one actually thinks is real until the comedown. These don't even seem like hallucinations cus they are soooo different. SWIM can't even call it one. With CEVs and OEVs, it's like marveling things that SWIY normally doesn't see. With these....it's just somewhere else, and SWIY won't think about anything except rolling with the trip...or trying to get back (even though SWIY won't know what "back" is at the time). Example: SWIM's friend, on his last salvia trip, was in the forest for the first half of his trip, and then in the city, gathering people in a car to go somewhere. Example (another). SWIM's friend looked at SWIM. he said that SWIM became a house at the end of the street. He saw a barn and cows until his comedown. Keep in mind that SWIM didn't just turn into a house in the middle of the room SWIM was in, SWIM turned into a house in the exact same position that the house was in SWIM's friend's "true hallucination." Conclusions: SWIM believes that it's the thought that counts. SWIM thinks that he can speak for most people...saying "confused with reality" isn't that accurate in terms of the user's thought process. Normally, a person doesn't think in his/her trip "wow is this real?" That thought just never comes up. One just rolls with it as if he/she has been living his/her entire life in it. The thought of reality is absent in dissociative trips. OEVs and CEVs can be caused by LSD or shrooms, which some people refer to as "mild hallucinogens." SWIM thinks this is because most of the visuals occur while the person can still understand the world he/she is in. Unlike "strong hallucinagens" such as PCP (and SWIM thinks salvia is definitely one too), these cause "true hallucinations," experiences like being taken to other worlds and believe that it is normal until comedown. However, dissociatives can also cause OEVs and CEVs (the examples above were SWIM's DXM trips). This information is completely based on observation (and a little research). SWIM is positive that someone can correct my information up there, but SWIM believes that this is the best way SWIM can explain it. Hope this helps. Sal-A |

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
If you want a true hallucination I would (or rather would not due to its effect on the body) recommend datura.

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
SWIM has had his entire field of vision become a hallucination althugh he knew it was the salvia affectng him and almost passed out. But it seemed like reality itself was changing at that point.

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
Salvia is still legal here in Canada, so SWIMS story goes...
$40 for 40X Salvia was a great buy, divided the gram into 10 baggies and bought a butane lighter. SWIM has been known to also have a nice water bong which is also great to have. The first time, involved 3 people, one after the other once its effects wore off. Since SWIM was the one who bought the stuff, everyone nominated him. Very nice visuals indeed but not like acid or shrooms. SWIM has read alot about Salvia and has taken all the precautions. Within 30 sec. the top corner of the room started melting and shrinking until SWIM was covered in a plastic like thin layer. The hands were drooping and melting also. The left side of the face was also detached from the other. This was too much for SWIM as laughter broke out uncontrollably. Sooozie tried it next where she was in a giant easter basket with all the colors. She also was on a school bus and was trying to get the rest to come on board. She tried to stand up which SWIM gently persuaded her not to by holding her shoulders so she couldn't stand and quietly told her to lay down again. When she normalized or denormalized (a term only a Salvia user could use correctly). She thought that she was being pushed down hard as SWIM was yelling at her. The group had a good laugh. Next was Jain Doh. She did not like as her rough childhood was rehashed in a dramatic fassion. She also noticed her hands drooping like a thick liquid. When SWIMS wife tried it a few days later, she saw aliens and knew that they were our creators. She was able to describe in detail as she saw them. She also said that we were an experiment and that other aliens will come soon to bread with us. She was later convinced that there was no god. So there you go, 4 different trips. SWIM would advise anyone to at least try it once because the after effects make you wonder if our very existance is real and if the things that we see are only because we have closed our minds. |

Re: A Q re: visual "hallucinations"
ninjasword. your post belongs in the "salvia experiences" forum. This thread is about CEVs, OEVs, and true hallucinations. Unless SWIY has any insight on that topic, please post in the correct forum, or start your own thread.
