IMA Bureaucracy - My Unconscious Routine
I was having a think and a look
at my internal processes today and I saw something I didn’t expect – I saw that I am a Bureaucracy Ie the authority to initiate acts Is invested in a System Rather than in an Individual, ie Me. For example All My Decisions* must be ratified by Ethics and Efficiency Committees Against ‘Established Criteria’ Application for Exception Must be Approved by The Exception Committee Against Established ‘Special Criteria’ Application for Variation to the Criteria Goes to a Specially Convened Council of Experts and If Approved A Free-Ranging Investigation is Launched To establish New Criteria Investigations that reach an Impasse Remain Suspended Open Awaiting further evidence And/or Periodic Review *There is a class of Processes Which bypass the Decision phase These are processes that have proved themselves to be so reliable That they can be allowed to function freely without authorization And even without any monitoring [consciousness] These are the processes called ‘Automatic Routines’^. Although Automatic Routines Have the freedom to function without authorization or monitoring and usually do They can be discredited at any stage And have their rights to function revoked As they are subject to any examination At any time By any interest Including random investigations Instigated under the influence of A variety of substances. ^This may seem a little contradictory As ‘Routine Function’ Is usually taken to be a v low level of functioning Rather than a higher one But consider these examples: The circulation of your blood and The digestion of your food and the only processes that get programmed into Auto-pilots are the ‘Automatic Routines’ ie, the processes who have proved to be so reliable that they dont even need to be watched. Passing into Unconscious Routine Is ‘Making it to the Olympics’ for Processes It means that the likelihood of failure of their function is deemed to be so low that it is not even worth the energy necessary to watch it do its work I realize I haven’t broached the subject of who the I of My is in ‘My Decisions’ but I don’t see it as relevant. Because the various committees’ approvals are the necessary final authorities, executive power is invested in the System not in the I that may seek that approval and therefore I am a Bureaucracy. Footnote: The system I serve is my concept of Truth and Justice whose test is Consistency and whose processes I have put in place to safeguard that Service. Not everyone serves such a system, eg an alternative system may be: the system I serve is my concept of loyalty to my group, whose test is unalloyed allegiance and whose processes I have put in place to safeguard my group and its members. A lot of people seem to use one like this – I suspect it has a Survival-of-the-Fittest Advantage in a violently competitive world. |

Re: IMABureaucracy– MIMadOrDoOthersHaveThis2?
I believe that djarma was aware of that and replying snarkily, which I can't blame him. Just as I agreed with fnord on his comment, it is pretty funny, and deserves a quip, when someone corrects someone else's speech, in a manner, but with a badly mispelled word (no offense meant to you fnord!).
