hydromorphone tolerance query

SWIM <3s dillys aka dilaudid and he gets 8s whenever but different from oc he notices he an do 2-3 8s and then the next day do 1 and feel great and hes fine for the day. basically he has had a good habit and not overoding it or daily but his tolerance never seems to raise. pretty much 1 to SWIM feels almost just as good as more. SWIM never likes to nod so he never takes that high a dose. he enjoys to relax sit back and just bask in the beauty. and 1 will do this for him just as pleasantly it seems as 2-3 SWIM has maybe on 2 occasions taken more then 24mg.

would not recommend it to the naive, have seen total opiate new comer only trying oxycodone twice at 30mg and 80mg fall off on his head because of 4mg. but cannabis was involved and he had never insufflated anything before.


SWIMs not complaining because this is very nice and interesting but is there anything special about hydromorphone than other opiates?

Tolerance builds very quickly with hydromorphone, but swim's experience with them has been solely iv. He usually mixes it with whatever other opiates he can find (h, morphine, oxy, whatever). After a two week run of mostly just dilaudid, at around 20mg a day, he was definitely not feeling anywhere near the same pleasure from a 4mg shot. Also, after a short six to eight hours after his last shot, he would start to get some nasty dope sickness, just about the worst he has ever experienced.

Dilaudid is fun stuff, but much different from other opiates in swim's opinion. Swim doesn't 'nod off' while on dilaudid, regardless of the dose, and feels a much more clear headed high than say morphine or heroin. Granted, this may be because of a fairly high tolerance built up after a long run of daily usage. Tolerance builds quickly, and a concomitant dependence also builds just as fast. Be careful.

hydromorphone is one of the strongest opiates available and one not as available as other opiates (hydrocodone/vicodin) i think the dose is confusing to users because a small amount (2mg) has a large effect, for example if swim takes 3 vicodin 5mg for said buz and tries to compare it to hydromorphone, it may only take one 8mg dose. like all opiates tolerance builds fast and preference depends on the user. swim knows user who takes 168 8mg tabs every 5 days, that dose could harm a non user.

SWIM learned that the half life of hydromorphone can last up to 40hrs in some patients with kidney issues and such, therefore building up within the body. which might explain why 1 may feel the same as 3 24hrs later.

SWIM is learning personally as well that diluadid is very different than what is the norm around his parts (OC, morphine) and pretty close to H, although SWIMs experience with that white horse has only gone 3 chases of the dragon.

SWIM is taking a break on the lil white devils because he does not want a rise in tolerance. how long would be advisable?

The longer the better, but I'd say that after maybe two weeks one's tolerance should be substantially lowered, depending on how large of a tolerance they currently have.

SWIM was thinking around a month anyway so thats good. hydromorphone is quite fascinating to SWIM. he read using a certain process it could be made into a chemical 80x stronger than morphine just by switching one chemical in the structure.

it also seems like a hidden treasure. since SWIM has not heard of it street wise only until he was injured and given it IV in the hospital. which was mind blowing. coming out SWIM praised about it and got nothing but raised eyebrows "dilaunin? dilaudude? what?" did swims research and found the 4mg then the 8s.

funny thing friend of SWIM had wisdom teeth taken out and was only given 20 vicodin so his friend brought him to SWIM and SWIM gave him 4 8s and said start with a half and call in 30 minutes. he takes 2 and 1/2 and says not much, then he insufflates 4mg and instantly and he says until the morning he felt pain relief and today he insufflated another 4mg and could actually eat solid food. this swimmer is a HUGE stoner and pot = his/her life and with the surgery he cant smoke. he thanked SWIM so much.

but anyone know why 16mg orally did almost nothing for his pain until 4mg insufflated?
