DHC Vs. Codeine

Ok..I was wondering..when they say that DHC's twice as potent as Codeine do they mean it's therefore even more abusable because of its higher potency or they just talk about analgesia?
And..when it gets metabolized does it totally turn into dihydromorphine or only partially?
Is it right to assume that the O-demethylation that usually occurs when it comes to Codeine works the same for this similar compound and if so..is dihydromorphine less effective and/or active than regular morphine?

Demethylation occurs like in codeine, about 10% of the dose. But DHC has effect by itself, and does need to me metabolised in order to have effects.
