Ecstacy and tripping???

How is it possible for Swims friend to take 2 capsules of ecstacy and then trip, I mean REALLY trip 5 hours later? Swims friend took 2 1/2 capsules of ecstacy within 3 hours. Even though was awesome E wasn't very visual or anything. 5 hours later was really tired. Swim's friend smokes some weed and all of a sudden realized they were tripping crazy. Full trip .Swim's friend tripped a lot in the past so it's not new. How is this possible?

There's a degree of "state dependant learning": If SWIY has hallucinated before, then they are more likely to do so again.

Remember also that cannabis is a psychedelic in it's own right. A flamingo I know hallucinates readily with even half a spliff.

The other issue is that MDMA metabolises to MDA (which is more hallucinogenic), so maybe that played a part

Of course, SWIY's friend could not have got MDMA, but something else entirely

It is wierd how the whole 5 hours of rolling thier was basically no or very slight visuals though very strong capsules and then all of a sudden
5 1/2 hrs. later really tripping. Swims friend would have thought that if it was the Ecstacy making them trip that they would havwe tripped the whole time . It was after weed was smoked real hallucinating happened but this same weed was smoked by swims friend at least four times b4. Swims friend is just curious how maybe chemically or however this could happen.

Swims friend slept fine the day before. Nothing was different. Swim's friend even had rolled two weeks before from the same type of capsules. Maybe different batch but same. No way to tell now. It seems like the combination of the weed and E interacted. Not just a little. Eyes also became fully dialated at onset of hallucinating. Didn't smoke weed with it two weeks before but have done this E by itself with normal reaction and this weed by itself with normal reaction. Swims friend did not take any kind of different drug presc. or other that week. Swim's friend just realized now that they had read on this forum that sometimes orange juice can bring E on quicker or make it last longer. Swim doesn't know if this is BS or true but after the 5 hours and E wearing off Swims friend tried this suggestion and drank some O.J right in between E wearing off and smoking weed. Swim wonders if that could have something to do with it or if that is crazy.

I agree with Jatelka......it was most likely around the point when the MDMA broke down in MDA which is considered more psychedelic MDMA. The spliff probably just sent the experience back into overdrive.

swim and his friend found themselves amazed at how tripped out they were making breakfast one morning after a nice doobie on the couch.
nights of bowl-smoking, philosophising, and wandering usually make swim's mdma experiences quite psychedelic, and big sessions usually swell these into large fuzzies at all points of a roll.

swim experienced the exact same thing, and only after smoking weed with the pills. swim took a (compared to normal) low dose (2 windmills) and dragged about twice on some pretty poor weed and was up within 10 minutes and was at a concert for a few more hours but on the way home felt the walls were melting, could make objects (that appeared to have mouths) open and close in timing with swims. and if swim focused on anything green specs would fly towards swim ie star wars style. these werent spectacualr pills so swim assumes this must be the weed.

well on the case of tripping off rolls.. High Doses of MDMA OR MDA will give you that tripping feeling...the doses didnt seem to crazy your friends body structure could be different then yours and his it might effect him more then you... but MDMA is a hallucinogenic but more of a body high as compared to MDA which is more of a visual so in this case i would have to suggest that it is based on the elements of body mass and maybe even immunity to the drug as well.
