WHen I hear bizarre questions like this it makes me want to beat people. Don't know why. Of course some social subcultures have a predisposition to try certain drugs just as they may have a tendency to wear certain clothes or listen to certain types of music. BUt subcultures are not defined by the colour of someone's skin. It's as ridiculous as asking whether blacks listen to rock music. |

Let swim tell you something. If swim came across another black person that did acid, swim wouldnt care at all, in fact swim would be extremely interested to know the effect that person had when he/she did acid. Swim is black and swim isnt trying to say that acid is only for rockers. If acid didnt cause HPPD or flashbacks, swim would surely be one of the black guys to of done acid numerous of times. |

"Purple Haze, all through my brain..."
Who writes this stuff? I know a guy who was in Haight-Ashbury before it died. He went onto to be a founding member of the Black Panthers. Something tells me he'd laugh in your face if you told him Blacks don't do acid. |

Re: Blacks and LSD
Okay guys, on the being racist thing, PCP is more prevalent in "black" neighborhoods, I think he meant poverty stricken neighborhoods (which often have black people in them). And PCP is easer/cheaper to make than LSD.

Re: Blacks and LSD
I can think of someone around here Bongo would like to give 300mcg. of LSD-25 to. Then drop this person, broke, into the middle of Harlem on a Saturday night. Be fun to follow with a clandestine film-crew.

Re: Blacks and LSD
SWIM has personally seen several black people take LSD on lots of different occasions. Believe it or not, they trip too.

Re: Blacks and LSD
In that the main-protagonist of the turkey-thread has been airlifted to Elephant Island off the coast of Antarctica, and will not be able to communicate further nuggets of insight - such as how "Birth of a Nation" was the best movie ever made - we can safely close this bilge.

The original post said the following: Quote:
"I was wondering if this was true" Hmmm... lets see now. You could react (IMO normally) and think ... would science back the theory that skin colour minus socio-political influences would dictate the preference for certain drugs or not? Concluding that the amount of melanin in your skin probably has little to nothing to do with what an individual free will in tact would decide when faced with drug choices. Or you could react (IMO like a teenager) and try and make out freedom of speech was being stifled by suggesting that melanin and drug choice are not directly related when taking out other socio political influences. If you do take away socio-political influences and you are only left with melanin and the result is that there is no direct correlation then it would be safe to say the orginal "african american buddies" of the original posters were either being flippant or lack any kind of serious understanding of the world. If you do notice, I'm not shouting "racism" or "what about the children" or "scandal" or "how dare you suggest any such utter repellent disgusting fiflth" etc etc etc. We're generally all just saying that for most people who have progressed to whatever stage in their lives, suggesting there is a direct link between melanin production and the choice to do certain drugs is propesterous. Now to my opinions: Stop acting like a spoilt teenager with yoru random rant of hey dude check a calendar and nobody cares about what you have to say because i rule teh universe and try and comminicate in a more stable manner which actually takes into account what people are saying instead of trying to discount others opinions and celebrate the glory of what it must be like to be you. And while you're at it read Milan Kunderas "Immortality " and maybe see what it means when he talks about hypertrophy of the soul. [/rant] |

Re: Blacks and LSD
Quote:
thats from my south african experience mixed with movies. the pre-equality governments develope certain areas for certain people, and they make laws causing disadvantages. basically forcing black people to become poor. now, not enough time has passed for the disadvantage to wear off (parent who didnt go to school cant afford to send his kid to school.) therefore, your "black neighbourhood" is actually a recovering poor neighbourhood. and poor people have problems like being hungry, so they cant afford to waste time with things like acid. they go straight for the 'dont eat, dont sleep' stuff (meth here in south africa). oh, and a rich black guy living in a 'white' wealthy neighbourhood gave swim his first acid. *edit* yeah, what tayo said, i didnt finish reading the posts. |
