Experiences with viewing auras on psychedelics

Last night swim was on 14 mg 2c-i with 3 good friends. As the trip was starting to get good, the third eye area became centered and focused. Some nice open eye visuals, although moderate, became apparent. Swim felt certain parts of his body "light up", as if they were full of energy. This continued until swim felt energy was flowing all through and around him.

One friend turned around to see what swim was up to, and just stared for a good minute. Followed by "Dude, I can see an aura around you it's really bright". Responded with "I know, I can feel it". He continued to stare until the other friend turned around and also saw it. "Wow..you have a sort of nimbus encircling you." The night continued and it was a beautiful trip filled with wonder.

So to the point, has anyone else experienced something similar? If not, any experiences with auras and psychedelics in general? I would love to hear input or thoughts on the experience above or the subject in general, swim knows nothing about this and it is the most fascinating thing to him.

As a side note swim saw this one hallucination he feels is worth sharing because it touched him so much. He was walking in the neighborhood and the group all stopped at this spot on the sidewalk where a wall was covered in vines and plants. One of the vines extended almost to his face from where he was standing, and he held one of the heart-shaped leaves gently in his hand. The veins of the leaf filled with a soft glow and the color of it slowly changed in transition...and then it started slowly beating like a real heart. Swim continued to hold this beating leaf for another 10 minutes or so as if it was a newborn...in complete awe while it twinkled and sparkled with the breath of life every once in awhile.

Budgie sees auras on a lot of different psych's..lsa, mushrooms, lsd, dmt..but also on a few non-psychedelics. When he sees auras, especially round people and animals, they are about 1-2 cm thick and quite bright.
He's always thought when he experiences them, it's just a sort of after-effect of looking at things when high, but maybe he's wrong, and some substances do unlock the ability to detect energy from living things..

It'd definitely be very interesting to hear other peoples experiences.

I've been trying to learn more about them. Many sources cite that auras are seen without psychedelics also. It is difficult in a way to learn about them--I don't know how to sift throughout the new age teachings and metaphysical texts.

Swim has often seen Kirlian-esque auras around things after taking a moderate dose of - of all things - diphenhydramine. Around 150mg has led to these mild effects without the full-on delerium of higher doses.

A long time ago when Swim did Lsd alot Swim remembers one time seeing an aura on self in mirror. Obviously Swim was messed up with friend but when Swim turned around to almost lifesize mirror Swim saw an Aura. A bright glowing flowing aura knowing exactly what it was. It felt warm and just nice.

This is incredibly interesting..if you're having trouble understanding the idea of auras..think of it as the energy that you give off - everyone/everything does it. It's that "vibe" that you get off of someone..you know someone's in a bad mood before they even say anything, or you feel happy around someone because they have that magnetic "pull"..it's their aura/energy and we pick up on it.

Back in the day when I was hardcore into pagan/earth-based/some new age beliefs, there was a lot of talk about seeing auras and one way is to go into a meditative state while sitting in front of a mirror. Sit against a white wall or background..then one can supposedly focus on his reflection and begin to see a glow around the body..usually different color(s). Never tried it, and not sure how much credibility the colors have as far as indicating certain conditions..but it's a fascinating topic none the less.

I think it's understandable that a person would see auras and energy while under the influence of psychedelics..I will tell SWIM to try this with her shrooms..

There have also been other times as well Swim thought it was an aura on someone else while on lsd or whatever but was never sure. When it was specifically Swim's it was posotive. Swim has always been a mystical, sort of spiritual type anyway. Swim hasn't necessarily seen auras any other times exept when mentioned but while not on any psycadelics pics up on other things like when something bad is going to happen and then it happens every once in a while. Posotive and negative and seems like can almost always get a sense of how someone is feeling. A stronger sense. Swim's daughter (8) in the car the other day while at a red light said Mommy look I see an angel. She pointed up towards near like the electric lines or whatever you call them. It was hard to see because Swim was driving and light turned green but she would't stop talking about it all day. Swim wonders if there are certain people who have more of a sense to see beyond the normal realm or is it just imagination or beliefs? Swim definatly thinks that while on psycadelics can open our minds eye to other things and see for Ex. auras more easily that most people normally couldn't see but real things. Just easier to see. Swim still meditates sometimes and will research this topic more now and try this mediation method to see if Swim could see aura without any psycadelics (Swim believes this may be possible) because swim can no longer get a hold of the good psycadelics(that SUCKS!!!) except occational exstacy.

SWIM sees and feels auras pretty much on a daily basis without the use of the psychoactives. It is about activating your chakras, more so the 7th one, also known as the third eye.

SWIM has only done shrooms twice, but on his 2nd trip he secluded himself from the rest of his group for approximately 2hours and he was having telepathic conversations with the spirits around him. There were 7 of them, 2 of whom SWIM could visualize their traits. SWIM feels the presence of these 2 spirits on a regular basis, one of them is a short girl, with long curly red hair and the other one is his grand-father (father's side) whom he has never met. SWIM particulary felt the presence of those 2 spirits that night but also a 3rd one which felt more of a grand-mother's presence, even though both his grand-mothers are alive.

Psychoactive drugs such as shrooms or LSD do open channels that normally are not open unless one is growing spiritually.

Just to venture a different opinion. Swim occasionally sees "auras" while on various psychedelics. Swim also sees auras when he has been to the optician and leaves the place while his pupils are still extremely dilated from those drops they put in. Swims optician has mentioned that this is very common. Swims pupils usually become extremely dilated when on psychedelics. Psychedelics have the ability to over exagerate visual phenomena. As you can tell Swim isn't really a new agey/spiritual type person, but he remains open to possibilities.

I read once online that Aura's are just as much physical as spiritual. Kind of like how a sun is a center of the universe, we are the center of our aura's and they are just small particles surrounding us and reacting to our moods.

It's been many a year since I read about chakras, but I thought the third eye was the sixth, followed by the crown chakra in position seven. What system are you referencing?

Stiny, swim agrees. She too has occasionally experienced the aura phenomenon while tripping, and was most struck by how much it was like the auras that accompany migraines. It was an interesting similarity.

When swim is on pyschedelics the most common auras he sees are around trees, some will have auras extending very far outward. Also his third eye area always feels "blindingly" open like it's almost too much to handle. Another thing he's noticed is that other people who aren't tripping (and usually have almost no psychedelic experience) feel uncomfortable and will even leave the room.

monkey once saw an aura on jacaranda tree leaves long ago on a few blotters (fave tress monkey might also add) gold, purple maybe blue or red stacked like a rainbow and as the leave swayed in the breeze these colous shimmerd above it almost dancing like, it was a long time ago, it was almost as if it was communicating with sound as well...

ECL is correct. The 7th chakra lights and you leave home (your body) for awhile. Also a hallmark of the kundalini experience - which can scare the guano out of an outside observer who is not versed in the phenomena.

SWIM had experienced a revelation in reading auras on his first LSD trip, and has seen the aura's of certain people with his third eye ever since.
The aura's that he see's of people he barely knows he is highly skeptical of, but the aura's that he had seen that first ever night, when all of his closest friends where tripping aswel, he noticed a purple aura of blue and very occasionally purple from one of his friends, and a very green one from his other. His other friends had aura's of red (his friend and his sister)... and even a gray surrounding SWIM's sisters friend!
He had told his two closest friends (call them blue and green) that he is seeing this, and they both said that when it was just the three of us in a room they could see an orange aura about me, with a golden concentration around SWIM's head, with frequent purple flares eminating occasionally...

When SWIM looked into this with many new age books he had laying around he was frightened in how accurate they were to his friends, went on a bit of an ego trip himself...

SWIM sees aura's around objects sometimes, but only when under the influence of Peyote, SWIM does not get the aura's on any of the other major psychadelics, though SWIM has yet to try Ketamine.

SWIM believes the aura's are related strongly to whatever personal connection lies between drug and partaker.

SWIM also believes when a drug that allows aura's to come into being, it is very important to note and pay attention to said aura, they have significance one would think.

A few years ago, SWIM was walking home through town after 4 hits of strong LSD after spending a day of meditation in a field with friends. Town was an unnervingly intense place, suitable only for the conditioned souls, who were too ignorant to observe the chaos. Things were getting bad, when they decided to enter a shop to use the toilets. SWIM began to notice what seemed to be a great amount of phosphorescent energy radiating out of a bookshelf in immense proportions. People all had this energy radiating out of them too. SWIM looked at the section which he had known to previoustly be the politics section, and found it to be the religious section, and that that particular shelf contained books on buddhism, hinduism, and the tibetan book of living and dying. The power was amazing and from that moment on SWIM knew that everything would be alright and became very peaceful. It was a life changing experience, and served as subjective proof of the conscious soul.

He now frequently sees "auras" and sees the consciousness behind the matter when on psychedelics.

It is very interesting for SWIM because SWIM is Developing his Psychic awareness and does see Aura's and Auric Fields. SWIM has been wondering weather taking Certain Psychoactives could stimulate his ability to see...

Psychedelics such as LSD affect some receptors of which function we do not know anything about ( and some of which function we know little about ) . So even from an anatomical point of view , psychedelics unlock abilities of our brain . Detecting energy / auras is probably one of them . However , remember , not all the unlockable features of our brain have to be useful ,or pleasant .
