Hello,
While Swim knows that the idea of "overdose" with cannabis is a very heated issue, given the prevelence of anti-marijuana propaganda, what Swim is asking here is a pretty practical thing.
Recently, Swim concocted two marijuana tinctures: both used 151-proof everclear. The first was made with ground vaporized cannabis and enough alochol to just cover the dry material. Left for 14 days min., shaken once per day. The second used fresh ground cannabis, with alcohol added the same way. Now, since the cannabis amounts were not measured (due to lack of scale, though a volume measurement COULD have been used, but wasn't) the vaped cannabis tincture turned out to be QUITE a bit stronger than the fresh. In fact, getting high off the fresh was not possible, as gradual dosing was used in order to "insure" not getting too high--unfortuantely, it was gone before the correct dose could be established. However, the vaped tincture was very variable--sometimes the same dose wouldn't do a thing, while the very last time, it was WAY too strong. (This was probably because the marc (the solid material) was not separated from the solution, for fear of wasting anything (which WILL happen with marc separation).
The result was what swim would functionally call a marijuana "overdose" due to the EXTREME uncomfort of the effects. Swim has noticed this sort of "overdose" only happens orally (the same thing happened when Swim made ice cream with the stuff--swim puked and thought Swim would die, got sick from drinking SO MUCH water.) The aftereffects of these incidents are the WORST, as persistent drymouth + cracked lips and headache last for 12+hours. What Swim was wondering, aside from self-clinically finding a "correct" dosage, was if there are any ANTI-CANNABINOIDS in the form of herbal therapy, or whatever similar to "marijuana hangover" cures that anyone knows of? I know that the effects Swim experienced are pretty much only possible with oral ingestion, but Swim's LUNGS insist.
This isn't a suggestion to swiys problem, but Rimonobant is a pretty new drug that is a cannabinoid antagonist. Supposedly you can't get high off of it and it can be used for controlling appetite, and there is a percentage of users who experience depression.
It is extremely interesting that severe depression results frequently (according to wikipedia, at least)....sort of the opposite of a mild cannabis high, perhaps? At least, in swim's experience.
