DXM + Mirtazapine
Hello everybody,
my good friend SWIH has the intention to try out a DXM trip for different reasons. first, he does want to try a dissoziative, but PCP is something he does not want to take, and ketamine is totally unavaible to buy on the street here. SWIH is an very experienced LSD tripper, even more experienced with Bud, and has more or less tried every of the common drugs (alcohol, nicotine lol, benzo's, meth & speed, cocaine, mdma, several opioids and opiates including morphine, excluding heroine (SWIH fears that he'll like heroine too much as he LOVES opiates)) including OTC drugs like diphenhydramine. as a sidenote, SWIH did ONE, in numbers, 1, diphenhydramine trip and will never do it again - mostly because of the extreme body load.
however, SWIH's having sleeping problems for his entire life, avoids taking diazepam more than once or twice a month and also stopped using bud for most of the time (mostly because it's getting harder and harder to get his hands on and LSD has changed him very much anyway) - recently, he wanted to try out sleeping pills, with a prescription, and went through zopiclone (stopped because of hours of lost memory before sleep and, presumably, doing weird things like reorganizing his furniture and also experiences like waking up in the middle of his room with socks on his ears and totally disordered clothing), and some more.
enough of chitchat (hopefully at least interesting for SWIY), SWIH's been put on Mirtazapine, one of the newest antidepressants on the market, as an off-label prescription for usage as a sedative. beside mirtazapine being very effective in this department, along with gaining 10 pounds of weight and feeling of being perma-sedated, it has zero recreational value. SWIH took his last dose last night (he has about 20 pills left but wants to stop using it), and as SWIH likes to inform himself a lot before trying out a new substance, he found out that DXM + anti-depressants are a no-go. he found out that MAOI + DXM = deadly, and SSNI + DXM = very unpleasant, same for tricyclics. now, mirtazapine is a NaSSA, and also a tetracyclic AD, and SWIH seems to be unable to found information about that and DXM.
Mirtazapine has a half life of about 30 hours, and SWIH took the last one about 23 hours ago.
now the question: does SWIY think, that SWIH can use DXM safely now or if not, how long SWIH should wait to be sure to have no effects related to mirtazapine + DXM or any AD + DXM, or if mirtazapine does even affect DXM in any way.
thanks for reading and hopefully you can help my poor friend.
