Thoughts and suggestions please

SWIM am currently perscribed co-codamol ( 30mg codeine ) for pain relief , they take two/four and although it leaves them relitively pain free the side effects are nasty in terms of sickness/nasuea. SWIM had read about Oxycodin could anyone tell me if this has the same side effects and if not would they be out of place to be asking for it directly from their GP as a substitute?

Typically a doctor won't just switch from codiene to Oxycodone. It is a few steps up the ladder, so to speak. And they both have the same potential for nausea. It could also be from the paracetemol that the nausea comes from. talk to your doctor abot the nausea - maybe there is an easy remedy. Asking to switch to Oxycodone, especially in the UK would probably make the doctor think one is fishing for a recreational high.
Tramadol might be an option.

yes well plainly swim would like a pleasureable painkiller if possible! lol however its not the only reason...they are perscribed an anti sickness tablet too though have had conflicting info about using it..gp says its fine ..pharmacist says no ...they are both downers..so unsure if safe to use ( would help if the medical profession could agree ) then again swim was also told they dont use codiene to treat migraine at all ..so god only knows. Swim also has a triptan to take on onset via IM injection.

They do CWE thier co-codamol already and have been doing for some time , so SWIM dosnt think its the paracetamol that are the issue tho SWIM is sure a bit remains.

Swiy would likely be put on hydrocodone before oxycodone. as it is said
before oxy on the ladder. swim literally went this route when in pain. And
also, if swiy wants "pleasurable painkiller" than oxycodone is nice.
