SWIM is originally from a "developing nation", but now lives in the UK. As such he could get weed mailed to him quite easily (and cheaply). He'd like to know what the chances are of getting caught, he's heard the HM Customs and Excise have quite a few powers but doesn't know how far they'd go or if they'd even be bothered. He would probably be getting 1-5 ounces in a small package. It would be posted to a large government building under a false name, then someone from the post room would pass it on to SWIM. SWIM doesn't think there'd be any kind of paper trail, they'd have to detect the package this end with sniffer dogs and then stake out the delivery point to see who recieved it. Would they do that? Otherwise it would seem that everyone else involved could deny everything.

There must be someplace for SWIY to get weed in the UK, if not, just grow it. Holland isn't that far away either.

Why would SWIY go through the trouble and risk for personal possession amounts--it doesn't make any sense to save a few quid.

IMO growing or bringing back from holland (which would require loads of hassles getting visas etc.) is much more risky than a parcel with no links to anyone. Of course he can get it here in eightths by paying lots of money, but it's mostly not very good and also he's moving it around on the train loads which increases the chance of him being caught with it. Growing it - he'd have to get lamps etc. plus loads of people would end up knowing about it, someone would grass him up or they'd all want a piece... house could get raided, it happens all the time here and it's difficult to hide a whole garden when the police knock. Much less risky to just get one parcel in the mail, take it home, keep it quiet, IMO. Assuming they're not going to stake him out, which is why I posted this. Just paranoia really, he's going to do it, he doesn't think they'd spend all that money staking him out unless it was a regular large-scale thing, which it won't be.

Swim used pepper also in parcel swim doesn't know if this helps but swim could try it.Swim would rather risk importing something of greater value and selling it on and buying weed with proceeds.

SWIM's friends would ship bud from California to Georgia, and never had any problem with the package's journey across country. They would put coffee in the same box as a smell coverup, but whether it actually was necessary is debatable. Either way, at least in the United States, the only reason marijuana is ever found in packages is because the packages are opened due to suspicious behavior. So as long as the people shipping the stuff to SWIY don't do anything odd, SWIY should be fine. Considering SWIY's shipment goes through customs, that of course increases the risk, but for small amounts I don't think they're gonna send agents to see who receives it, but I'm not familiar with UK drug policy, so don't rely on my opinion.

The issue here is that ultimately it's going to be MANY packages and it then becomes an issue of statistical probability.

But the expensive shagweed situation is understood. Maybe SWIY needs to track down a reliable source.

Sounds safe enough, in terms of importing ounce quantities by mail in general.

But it really hinges on how much you can trust the guy in the mailroom who will deliver it to you. If the shit hits the fan, would he be smart enough/loyal enough to cover for you? Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

I'd personally recommend quantities of no more than an ounce at a time, two at the most. And make sure that the person packaging it knows how to smell-proof it (two airtight layers, sterile hands when wrapping the second layer, etc).

if SWIY tries this, please let us know how it went

my guess is that if it's a small quantity (e.g. 1 oz), they wouldn't be bothered with investigating anyway.
