Questions about Dried Peruvian Torch Shavings (1st timer)
Hi
SWIM has recently otained 60g (3 x 20g bags) of Dried Peruvian Torch Shavings. SWIM has spent a few hours researching but has a few questions they'd like cleared up if SWIY could help! Would SWIM be able to roughly grind the shavings up and add to a thick soup or milkshake - would this cause any problems? SWIM figures that it'd be easier to get the lumps down if they were masked in a thick liquid. Is there an advantage to boiling it up with water and making a broth out of the shavings? Would that make the potency any greater/less? SWIM hasn't done this before any wants to make it as easy as possible. Also will 30g each (SWIM is doing it with a friend) be enough for a good experience? Thanks for any advice, this is a great forum, I'm glad SWIM found it lol 2 bags of Dried Peruvian Torch Shavings

Re: Questions about Dried Peruvian Torch Shavings (1st timer)
"Dried Peruvian Torch skins need to be simmered in water for 4-5 hours before consumption. Some people add lemons and limes to the brew in order to improve the taste but SWIM isn't a believer in this because the taste is distinctly vile and unmaskable. It's important to strain the brew after simmering in order to remove the bits that will be floating around in it. Leaving the bits in makes it much more difficult to drink." -Nature Boy

Re: Questions about Dried Peruvian Torch Shavings (1st timer)
Thanks for the quick reply!
Would leaving the bits in (although making the mix harder to drink) make it stronger? SWIM has eaten some bad things in the past to thinks they can handle it - SWIM wants to get their moneys worth out of this! |
