Experiences - LSD being different? (Possibly Cross-Tolerance with Psilocybin)

I know SWIM who has been doing LSD on and off now for 15 years. SWIM has recently taken some liquid substance which she would very much like to classify and also possibly find out if there is ANY chance that said substance could possibly be LSD after all despite being convinced that it is not.

I hope you lovely people can help and SWIM would like to thank you all in advance.

SWIM had taken 3 strong psychedelic mushrooms on Thursday evening. The trip in her opinion was lovely.

On the following Saturday at around 6pm she took one drop on a fruit pastille of what she had been told was LSD.

After an hour she was confused as she still had no signs of coming up. She decided to take another fruit pastille thinking it was either nothing or something which may require a larger dose.

She had been smoking pot that day and after a while began to think the pot she was smoking was very good indeed.

At 8pm she was utterly confused and realised there was some "trippy" light visuals occuring or at least she thought they were. She waited as the visuals got slightly stronger.

At 9pm she decided to take another dose. She was interested in what the drug was as she knew form years of experience that the feelings she was having and sensation, visuals, physical and mental reactions were not that that she had ALWAYS experienced when under the influence of LSD.

No tingles, no closed eye swirling fractals, no fantastically recognisable psychological and mental familiar feelings. Although the open eye visuals were beautiful and VERY unique they were definitely not what she had ever ever experienced before on LSD.

The visuals had a unique and distinct character of their own. Unlike the infinitely mathematical nature of all her past LSD hallucinations these had a very distinctly "cartoon" feel. Peoples faces which always distorted on LSD did not do so although colours intensified, visually things were looking clear and panoramic, vast and bizarre. Still she was 100% convinced this was not LSD despite hoping it would be. NO repeating patterns or fractals.

Anyway. The experience was fun until she over danced and began to feel a little sick (which may very well have been psychosomatic as she was a little nervous about having taken a triple dose of something she didn't know and needing water quite badly.)

When she tried to throw up and failed she felt better for a few hours.

She then again later started to feel sick again.

She went to bed and slept by 2am. Something she knows for a fact she would have been completely unable to do whilst tripping on LSD. When she closed her eyes she saw some swirly closed eye visuals but very different to the usual type she had experiences for many many trips over 15 years.

Reasons SWIM thinks she did not have LSD:
Coming up time was over an hour, much closer to two hours.
Coming up felt completely foreign
All senses reacted completely differently from usual
Closed eye and open eye visuals were not the familiar LSD type. (Closed eye visuals were not apparent till late in the trip)
It took 3 doses to have effect
She slept within 5 - 8 hours of taking doses.
There was absolutelt ZERO pupil dilation during the WHOLE trip!!!!!
(All these experiences were shared by another friend who has also done LSD before but not to the same extent)

Reasons SWIM thinks she may have had LSD:
She had taken a variety of pot and Mushrooms over the past few days prior to this experience; maybe the mushrooms had changed her body’s reaction to LSD?
Apparently the cat who gave it to her had said 4 other people had given positive reports on the substance
She has heard of people falling asleep on LSD

I realise that some of you may not be able to help and I'm sure some may come back with some surly comments as is custom but those of you who have an educated opinion and can help, please do!

No way to tell for sure. Im thinking a Doc chem or something along those lines. I dought that mushrooms would have dont anything. After all you can use those two substances at the same time and have an amazing time. You will be surprised by how man substances out there can make you trip. Talk to whom ever gave to it to SWIY.

Sorry for the double post, Cant figure out if you can edit posts *if you can*. What did the chemical taste like to SWIY. Does it taste bitter? If so then its probably a doc or dom chemical. If it has almost no taste this its LSD for the most part.

Psilocybin and LSD DO exhibit cross-tolerance, so that could have had something to do with it

Thank you Jatelka! Swim has confirmed this was exactly the reason as Swim tried the same stuff again and it was most definitely LSD. Just though I would post in case of any future posters needing information.
