Ever had a sexually-induced Altered State of Consciousness?

Here's a question I've been wondering and I'd lke to know what different people think about it: During the act of normal sex, with no abnormal drugs involved, have you ever felt yourself slip into an altered state of consciousness? And how much consciousness alteration do you think is possible during the act of sex alone?

The reason I ask this is that the true love of SWIM's life is not drugs... it is altered states of consciousness, regardless of when or where they arise. Any moment where suddenly everything seems different and somehow clear, any moment of profound realization or transformation during the day... these are the things SWIM lives for. Sometimes they come when SWIM takes a drug, but by no means is that a requirement.

During sex, adrenaline flows in the bloodstream and dopamine is released in the brain. At moments of heightened intensity, I believe the various radical chemicals deployed by the body and brain can cause moments that have a lot in common with a "trip".

Now I'm not asking you to describe the sex you've had or brag about it... And I'm not asking what drugs you've used in conjunction with sex. But, have you ever had a moment during sex where, from the act of sex alone, you felt profoundly "altered"? Perhaps a dissociation, like merging with the partner's consciousness? Perhaps a psychedelic-like moment of "cosmic realization" or a spiritual breakthrough?

I think I have... on rare and special occasions. Surely I'm not the only one!

Monkey is very interested in this as well. Much like swiJ his kick is altered states, be it from drugs or whatever (drugs just happen to be the best method he's found by a long shot). He's had a few experiences of semi-ego-loss/ecstatic-dissociation during sex and is very interested in what is possible within this context. He's read about the whole tantra/sex magick, etc type thing but tends to be skeptical due to most of this info coming from the new-age arena.

To me there is superficial and intense sex, with many degrees of intensity and a wide spectrum of states of consciousness. But sex is a altering of consciousness by definition. Sex can be just as useful to explore consciousness as drugs can be. Maybe even more as it's a more natural approach. Therefor the combination of sex and drugs greatly multiplies this possibility.
Sex changes how one feels, it can give rise to feelings deep from ones subconsciousness. Very similar to psychedelics. It does certainly change how I perceive things, mentally, emotionally as well as cognitive. But this does not only go for sex, consciousness is also greatly affected by breathing. And as breathing may be very intense while having sex, this is another cause for altered consciousness during sex.

I do think that those who have a developed intuition, are sensitive to the paranormal or those who are emphatic will often more experience sex as a altered state of consciousness.
There is much similarity between psychonavigating trough a psychedelic experience and finding the right psychological atmosphere/place to touch another soul.

I do believe the conception of chemicals inducing feelings is wrong. Feelings induce the release of chemicals just as well.
