This also means he had anti-depressants prescribed but was NOT on them at the time of shooting. I love the spin on this ...
-- RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia State Police said the student who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech University before committing suicide had no prescription drugs or toxic substances in his system. The toxicology tests, performed as part of 23-year-old Seung-Hui Cho's autopsy, answered one of the key remaining questions in the investigation of the gunman who opened fire April 16 in a dormitory and a classroom building. It confirmed he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. State police said they will not release the complete autopsy reports on Cho or his victims because the criminal investigation is ongoing. |

Re: Test: Virginia Tech Gunman Was Not On Drugs
They weren's sure about the gunshot wound to the head, huh? Yeah, I can see how that would be a riddle.

Re: Test: Virginia Tech Gunman Was Not On Drugs
From what I understand about antidepressants, the danger comes from sudden discontinuation of meds, so, of course, there would be none in his system.

Re: Test: Virginia Tech Gunman Was Not On Drugs
I think "they" were hoping to find traces of something illicit in his system so "they" could say, "SEE? DO DRUGS AND YOU WILL BECOME A CRAZED PSYCHOTIC KILLER."
Would have pleased Walters greatly to carry a nugget like that around with the recent "research" showing a link between marijuana and gang violence. Sorry John...no cigar this time. In fact, "SEE? MAYBE IF THAT KID SMOKED A LITTLE WEED HE WOULD HAVE MELLOWED OUT INSTEAD OF GOING ON A MURDEROUS RAMPAGE." |

Re: Test: Virginia Tech Gunman Was Not On Drugs
So wait, he was supposed to take anti-depressants but didn't? Obviously there was a lot more behind the shooting than a skipped dosage of anti-depressants, but that could definitely have spurred it. I know whenever I suddenly stop taking mine, I tend to get a little irritable, depressed, and just overall whacky myself.

Re: Test: Virginia Tech Gunman Was Not On Drugs
SWIM wonders if there will be outrage against the pharmaceutical industry, obviously there won’t be, I mean why would they bother
But wait… If he had been found to have weed or any other illegal drug in his system I bet they’d be using it in their propaganda spin on things for years to come |
