Opinions - Smoking flakes of cannabis in bong water?

SWIM's pretty desperate to get high atm and is broke.

SWIM's also been smoking weed out of a bong w/no filter for a few weeks, so essentially, a lot of the weed was being lost by being just sucked down the pipe.

So SWIM decided that if the weed was still there, just now sitting in bong water, he could maybe retrieve the weed by pouring out the bong water through filters and drying the weed under lamps.

Does that work?

Also, he's smoked resin straight up before and got a nasty headache from it. What are the proper techniques for smoking resin?
