Lightbulb Mushroom Hunting in Connecticut

Last September/October SWIM spotted a few mushrooms growing in a woodchip garden outside his house. SWIM has a dog outside there, and huge oak trees shading most of SWIM's yard (grass doesn't grow very well). The mushrooms were small and looked a lot like Liberty Cap. I don't remember if it had an actual point on the top, but could have been P. pelliculosa or P. silvatica, since they were growing in woodchips. At the time, SWIM hadn't ever tried mushrooms, so he didn't bother.
Does anyone know if these three species could grow in Connecticut, or if any magic mushrooms can be found in my area?
I'll be on the lookout next fall, if so...
