Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
Howdy folks,
Swit has 100mg of Tramadol and 10mg of hydrocodone and wants to make the most of them. His plan is to drink a fair amount of grapefruit juice, followed by the tramadol about 30minutes later. He has done this much before with no problem, but found that the high was not quite high enough. This time however, he plans to boost his high by taking the hydrocodone when the tramadol is near it's peak. Swit's question is; does taking an opiate (like hydrocodone) increase the risk of seizure typically associated with high-doses of tramadol? Thanks |

Re: Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
Yup, looks like it.
Interactions | Duplications | Allergies 1 Major Drug Interactions Detected MAJOR Drug-Drug hydrocodone and tramadol GENERALLY AVOID: Concomitant use of tramadol increases the seizure risk in patients taking other opioids. These agents are often individually epileptogenic and may have additive effects on seizure threshold during coadministration. CNS- and respiratory-depressant effects may also be additive. In patients who have been previously dependent on or chronically using opioids, tramadol can also reinitiate physical dependence or precipitate withdrawal symptoms. MANAGEMENT: Concomitant use of tramadol and other opioids should be avoided in general. Tramadol should not be used in opioid-dependent patients, and use in patients who are chronically on opioids is also not recommended. Tramadol is contraindicated in patients with acute opioid intoxication. Tramadol dosage should be reduced if it must be used in patients receiving opioids. Patients should be monitored for development of seizures and CNS and respiratory depression. |

Re: Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
maybe swiy should add a benzo to the cocktail... to counter the possibility of having seizures and to adding a lil' bit, just one dose should be enough, more will be dangerous

Re: Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
Well, Swit tried this conbo in the end. He took the hydrocodone about 4 hours after the tramadol and grapefruit, so it was after the tramadol peak. He was fortunate enough not to have any seizures, however he felt extreme nausea for a few hours and little to no euphoria, just a stoned feeling.
Not worth it... |

Re: Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
given these substances, swim would recommend taking some potentiators about an hour before the hydro to get the most out of it since it isnt much, then when swiy starts to feel the hydro, take the tramadol second. This has proven very successful in the past for swim, especially once after all the hydro and tramadol have started to hit to add in some nice mary jane. Left swim laying in bed with huge waves of pleasure running up and down swim's body. A cigarette can add to the great feelings.

Re: Tramadol & Hydrocodone Combo
A panda I know tried this combination recently.
He took 150mg of Tramadol to begin with. He then chilled out for about one and a half hours and then took a 7.5-500 Vicodin (Hydrocodone). After about another hour or so he consumed another 7.5mg of hydrocodone. He was smoking cannabis throughout this period of time. The panda feels that the substances synergize nicely. He experienced a strong stimulating euphoria and sense of overall happiness, which gradually transformed into an increasingly sedative nod as time went by. At the peak of the effects the euphoria was fairly strong, and the panda was feeling pretty intoxicated. His motor coordination was diminished noticeably, and he felt sort of drunk as he walked - and occasionally stumbled. The cannabis melded nicely, adding to the mellow high. After the main bout of euphoria wore off the panda started nodding hard, and he experienced a moderate degree of nausea and stomach discomfort. The sedation overwhelmed him after a bit so he lay down and rested in an odd state where dream imagery and thoughts melded with the real world. He could hear people talking outside the room and see the wall in front of him, but he also saw a TV screen with random images that he often confused with the ideas from outside. Was very bizaree, like dreaming awake. The panda found the experience to be enjoyable, but the heavy sedation and moderate nausea on the decline was a bit much. Lower dose of hydrocodone may have provided a better balance. I should also note that my panda had a low (but existing) tolerance to opiates when this combination was attempted. |
