Is MDMA considered a psychedelic?

I don't think i'd classify MDMA as a "pscyhedelic", but I think it definitely has some psychedelic properties.

swim would say yes... MDMA should be classified as a psychedelic empathogen with stimulant properties.

^"Psychedelic empathogen" sounds about right! "Psychedelic enatogen" is too ugly sounding.

This article is interesting. I wonder what would have happened if the doses of amphetamines had been higher and MDMA was used instead of MDA? If enactogen is a valid term, it should include beta ketones such as methlylone as well. (As for MBDB, it's hardly an enactogen or stimulant.)

Indeed, MDA is considered more psychedelic than MDMA. Also doesnt MDMA break down into MDA after a few hours after ingestion? Swim consider's visuals while rolling "true hallucinations" (i think i got that description from Nag) rather than visuals off "agreed" (lol) psychedelics.

Whatever way we try to define it , people will always disagree to some extent as their experience's are subjective and cant really be compared. For one person it may be an entactogen, for another it may psychedelic and for other's it may an empathogen.

For swim it is all three. Perhap's we need a new word to describe it as there is so much disagreement to what it is ?

Empthogen and enacotgen are probably interchangeable terms, whilst not having exactly the same meaning.

I would disagree that the terms are interchangeable.

Empathogen relates more to a social context, in how MDMA allows you to connect with other people, while entactogen is better suited to describing the introspective and "soul opening" nature of the drug.

I would say that both of those terms are applicable to MDMA however.

At of all the times swims dog and frog took some Id say its hard to classify ,even when tested pure It seems to give a lot of effects ,no where near a full blown trip but the whole journey is alot things goin on ,like if swims dog is hurt he doesnt feel pain and its kinda has a body trip when you feel tingles or bass hits or something else "blows" one up. i think all these feelings is why ppl think theres H and coke in them or acid when they are clean,tho sometimes ppl get (especially in the US) all kinds of things "rolled up" to re-create that feeling, i think it has to do also with the person .some ppl "trip" off weed but not like acid as far as i know.but im fine with whatever its class is.just enjoy whatever you do get from it.DONT abuse.im sure enough of a lot of non psychedelics will make you trip if you do enough,its called poison
