Re: twitches

SWiM has twitches, pretty certain it's from the cannabis. He noticed this very early, he also noticed other stoners with the same moves. One dude used to twitch so much that SWiM didn't even want to let him hold the pipe/bong/joint. I'd be surprised if this isn't very common among smokers. I would think that many smokers at least know someone that amuses his/her friends with an occasional, sudden, weird move.

Re: twitches

the post-smoke twitching also happens to swim. the spasms seem to always come after cannabis smoking.
Swim never used to have any problems with muscle spasms. Soon after swim started chiefing, he was put on a number of anti-depressants. He was on paxil for the longest period of time. He noticed the after-smoke twitch after every trip while on paxil. He know takes lexapro. The switching has gotten better to the change-up in medication

SSRI's anybody?

Re: twitches

Never heard anything like that before. I thought cannabis helped control muscle spasms in multiple sclerosis patients. What SWIM noticed while high is that his pulse is a bit messed up and hands shake.

My monkey had plenty of muscle spams when first week he was on paxil. These were minor, but the were followed by a vertigo feeling very annoying.

Can SWIY describe this twitching further?

Re: twitches

swiQT gets them often. She doesnt normally suffer from twitches but once she smokes she cant stay still. She constantly moves and stands up and even occassionally starts dancing. Noone knows why she does this but she is not the only one this happens to.

Re: twitches

if swim tries to hold absolutly still he always twitches/jerks.maby an excess of dopamine would cause this or the fact that thc receptors are in nearly evey part of the brain and when activated serve as a booster for that particular site.when swim drinks or takes ambien with mj this dosent happen.amphetamine exzaggerates this by 200%though the twitching is more localized to his hands and arms.

Re: twitches

Ya i get them all the time, especially when im just sitting down, not as noticeable when im up and about though. It used to freak me out when I first started smoking though because I didnt know if it was an adverse reaction from the pot or if it was normal. I actually kinda like the lil twitches now lol.

Re: twitches

hahaha swim gets these and they are mad crazy.... he will sit there and just close his eyes and twitch his toes but in his mind his toes are in perfect sequence. its actually beautiful.. but swim has had one experience where he smoked so much he tried to go to sleep and it was if his body was having a seziure(sp)... but other than that, if you stay moving and what not the twitches are cool... swim believes its more of a "up tight" stress thing... becuase when swim trys to calm down and focus on clear nothingness he just goes into calm states... haha as all the swimers here can tell swim does not smoke much, and when and if he does he gets HIGH.

Re: twitches

When swim first started smoking several years ago they were very embarrassed by the involuntary twitching. They even had a smoke buddy who made it a point to sit by them so they could see better. It didn't effect their other half in that way so she was even more self-conscious. Swim's been twitch free for about 2 years. B-)

Re: twitches

this doesn't happen very often but once swim had a few bowls of this reeaaallly good shit and just laid on his bed twitching like mad while listening to LSD by Hallucinogen. The music felt like it was sparkling around him and making him twitch.

swim never twitches in public tho, I guess it's only when he's veeerrry stoned and laying still.

Sally Saladine, an aquiantance of mine, says that she gets palpitations - not twitches of limbs etc, but localised and very short term throbbing of blood vessles especialy on the top of her foot, her neck and her head and sometimes she gets a wierd popping feeling in he elbow area that feels like an obstruction in the blood flow has just been shifted.

Re: twitches

One of my Swim gets "twitches" which he attributes to his smoking days, even though he stopped tokking over 6 years ago, he still gets random "whole body twitches". Normally its just 1 large spasms then it go's away again. It’s as funny as hell to watch! LoL (hes going to kill me when he reads this)
