Swims friend "Flips out" on E.

O.k, so this is a bit of an invlolved story but ill try to give you guys the readers digest version. So last night swim and his friends where going to get some pills. Swims hook up ended up falling through so everyone got on there phones looking for more. One of Swims friends, an experianced E user, did not have any faith that they would be able to get the pills after about an hour of trying, so he decided he'd just get pissy ass drunk and pass out. So as everyone else is looking for more pills, swims friend starts working on a handle of Captain Morgan with only two other people. Swims freind easily drank about half of that handle, and was extremely drunk. Then a miracle happens and Swims friends get there pills. Swims drunk friend, even though completely smashed, still decides to takes his pills. Swims drunk friend only remembers about 30 mins after he took the pills, then the rest is blank to him. Swims friend was completly mind fucked. He could not hold a coherent conversation, was freakin out about random things (such as; one person got a nose bleed and swims drunk friend was convinced she was bleeding out of her mouth and was going to die.) The wierdest thing though was that Swims friend was having conversations with people that wheren't there, he even introduced himself and shook hands with these people he was talking to. He carried on like this for hours and then all of a sudden is like WTF happened last night? He had never actually gone to sleep but he thought he did, he also didnt even remember taking the pills. What the hell happened to Swims friend?

Common knowledge (if you did your research) is that alcohol and MDMA:

9 out of 10 deaths from Ecstasy had alcohol involved. (iffy on statistics, but i know it's bad)

Sooo basically, just stay away from alcohol when rolling and you'll be fine.

Well when you take a lot of ecstasy there is a big chance you will start hallucinating. Plus if you're drunk at the same time you just go nuts. I can easily testify to that.

Simple answer, SWiK's friend got righteously drunk & then took Ecstasy. A Certain Mouse has seen this combination (especially in that order!) have that effect several times in his life, & has had it happen to him - even to the point of being convinced he has been spiked with something other than what he has himself ingested. Main symptoms - lack of coordination, disinhibition, occasional mild paranoia, then as with SWiK's friend a sudden re-entry into consensus reality with a distinct WTF!, much as SWiK's friend had, leaving the poor Mouse quite shaken. No hallucinations per se, but then you say SWiK's friend had "pills" - multiple? This could explain the more hallucinatory effects - mdma & it's metabolites can take on a more classically psychedelic/hallucinatory edge at higher doses, as can various other drugs that find their way into pills calling themselves Ecstasy. A Certain Mouse has noted similar effects from high doses of amfetamine & alcohol combined.

The alcohol & ecstasy death stats are inded quite iffy. However, the fact remains that both ecstasy, whether mdma & it's metabolites, or a random cocktail, & alcohol do both put a huge strain on the users kidneys, & when taken together there is the possibility of a certain level of overload, leading to poor temperature regulation & hyperthermia (over-heating) which in turn can lead to hallucinations (think about the delusional states associated with high fevers) in the short term, & renal (kidney) damage in the mid to long term.

If alcohol is to be consumed alongside ecstasy, then it is best left till well after the peak, & if drinking whilst the effects of the pill are acute, then go slowly. Either way, it is important to stay hydrated - average approximately a pint of water every hour, sipped, & remind people to drink (water, not alcohol that is!). Remember that too much water is just as dangerous as too little, potentially more so - run a search on hyponatraemia (sp?) for more information.

A friend of SWIM's got really drunk and then dropped some acid. The result was a similar mess but a bit more cosmic. Paranoia, strange rantings and so on. Getting very drunk and then taking any other drug is asking for trouble.

Well, people do stupid things when they're drunk. SWIM himself has used
MDMA after (moderate) drinking, yeah it dehydrates you even more!

So, we have this forum to learn about this stuff and avoid it.

So, ONCE AGAIN, here's a good example for everyone to see why you
shouldn't ingest MDMA after drinking, especially after drinking a lot.

Even more imporant with 'ecstasy', as you don't know exactly whats in it. Makes mixing with alcohol even more sketchy, if it isn't enough so with pure MDMA.

Thanks for the replies guys. And ya he took more than 1 pill, it was actually 5. He also doesnt like to drink water when he is on E, wierd I know, but he says it makes him feel sick when he drinks water on E. Yet he has no problem swilling Captain and vodka while on it, go figure. The reason i was worried though is that his brother, who is addicted to crystal meth, is perminantly mind-fucked and now has a mildly-severe case of psycosis/scytzophrenia(sp?). My friend has also done crys too, but only twice and has been clean for 2 yrs now w/ no desire to try iy again. So i was wanderin if maybe he might be gettin what his brother has.

This exact thing happened to swim, he got smashed off vodka and then took 2 pills and he dont remember anythin after this, but he smoked a fat spliff about 2 or 3 hours later i beileve and swim just went back to normal again and then asked his friends wot happened to swim

hmmm 6 pints of beer is a good limit to set. SWIM has experienced taking mdma when beeing very drunk and apparently he just blacked out, threw up, and fell asleep (he suspects some embarrassing mutterings too that his friends wont tell him)

however, he has taken mdma after about 5 pints and 3 other drinks and felt the effects were as desired, but definitely felt it coulda been stupid if he was any more drunk (he was quite together because the drinks were consumed between 7 and midnight)

yeah the above 2 posters have a point: SWIM has been to the pub, gone back to a friends for a chill and a smoke, been offered a pill and in his inebriated state said "why not", and ended up having a very relaxed and enjoyable roll. However, getting piss-drunk and then consuming more than a third of your usual nights dose of E is a silly idea, unless you enjoy the total fuck headedness that comes with it, like one of SWIMS friends, for some reason.
he's walked into his sleeping mums room and started talking to her about world of warcraft, been obsessed with checking a pizza in the oven that wasnt there, talking to me when I was stood behind him (and when swim asked what he was doing, he said he was talking to SWIM, totally not understanding who I was), kissed a passed out friend then recoiled in horror when he realised it wasnt a girl, who, when he was asked about it the next day, didn't even exist.

very amusing to watch, but doing that regularly has got to play havoc on your brain. he did take about 8 pills though, with 6 or 7 cans.

Crikey, 6 pills and half a bottle of Captain Morgan...has your friend got a deathwish? And with NO water? He's lucky that he came back with regrets and nothing else.

Swims friend went mad when he took 3 pills the day after a massive drinking session, he got very paranoid and thought he was dieing, he then started tripping, the pills definatly had DXM or ketamine mixed with then because swim had some too and he was trippin a little bit.

When swim used to do e him and his friend got steaming drunk then double dropped outside with friends camping out, about 40 mins later they could not move, was impossible it was like being paralysed.
