mood elevators (ghb style)
SWIM had the good fortune to purchase a large amount of GBL
years ago while this was still perfectly legal in the USA. SWIM took moderate doses of this 3-4 times a week over several years, and she finds it much missed...SWIM has spent the last several months (her supply long exhausted) researching some sort of legal or semi-legal alternative...having made a real and concerted effort at this, SWIM finally asks to throw herself on the mercy of folks for any suggestions. SWIM will briefly summarize her experience with some candidate substitutes below. Short version: nothing found that is very helpful. SWIM is wondering if she is simply out of luck, or whether there might be something left to try. SWIM would be grateful for any suggestions. ideal sought: a GHB alternative...something that is uplifting, relatively gentle, easy to do in company--or, alternatively, a pot substitute (which SWIM hesitates to pursue given nazi style local law enforcement, especially given spousal resistance on SWIM going to prison ).note that SWIM would consider prescription medications, esp. those that are not controlled substances and thus easily obtainable. Attempts: kava: extracts (mulitple) all worthless. the actual root is active, but the effect, at least for SWIM, is more tiring than euphoriac. too similar in that respect to alcohol for SWIM. (is there any point in trying more complicated extractions than just water, i.e. could SWIM be missing some alkoid content by not having a better mix of solvents? would the experience change enough to bother?). blue lotus: no appreciable effects. (dissolving extract in water or wine). dxm: certainly has major effects, and interesting for tripping out, but not helpful as a GBL/GHB style substance. phenibut: no noticeable effects. commerical ghb substitutes sold as such: tried only one, "liquid relaxation" which has analogue GHV in it...found one experiment nothing happened of not, in another produced a definitely altered but not especially pleasant (anxious, edgey) effect. is SWIM right in presuming that other commercial variants are equally a waste? kanna: not yet tried but have some on hand...still researching best method of taking and weighing the balance of experience reports pro/con (SWIM wishes to avoid anything that might massively increase blood pressure). damiana: not tried recently, but experiments some years ago proved pointless. any thoughts? |
