Best method of prescription pill crushing?

SWIM posted this here because he's primarily interested in the insufflated ingestion of opoid pills, but this could apply to any perscription pill. What have experienced pill snorters found is the best way to crush up their pills to the desired consistency? Despite extensive use SWIM tends to wing it with availible materials, though a pill cutter is definately a big help. Generally after a few cuts a pill can be mostly broken up with a credit card and the palm of a hand. But other times SWIM has found another hard object is neccesary. Putting a paper towell or the like over the pill and smashing it with something hard generally works. Once the powder is fairly fine it can be cut with a card coke style, though caution is required since little bits can fly off whatever you're using to hold it.

It occured to SWIM he still doesn't feel like he's crushing his pills very efficiently, any thoughts in improving his technique? Also SWIM has heard mention of "pill crushers". Is this just another term for a pill cutter or is there a device that will actually puvelrize a pill instead of just splitting it?

well why would swiy cut more things into it?? Although they are prescription meds it doen't mean they don't contain other unwanted cuts. Unless swiy likes to combine substances for other effects? And what would swiy want to cut with?

SWIM meant cuts made on a pill with a pill cutter. It's just a little device that uses a blade to split up the pill, and with it in several pieces it's easier to crush. Good idea on the mortar and pestle, SWIM hadn't thought of that.

The beauty of the mortor and pestle is that those little bits that go flying when working on a flat surface are caught by the bowl. Other than that a smooth tile like a marble tile works, mirror, etc.

swim uses a pill crusher to crush up his meds. they're only like 3 bucks at walmart, and it crushes well. swim would crush up ocs and put them into gel caps. swim likes to swallow pills instead of snorting them.

swim uses a plain sheet of printer paper folded and uses a screw driver hammer to crush my oxycontin and a razor for fine chopping

Swim uses the bottom of a Bic lighter, it works pretty good and theyre always around (who doesnt have a Bic). Hes never had pieces flying around. He would never use a paper towel seems lkike it might soak up some of the goodness. Yes there is pill crushers at Rite Aid, Wal Mart, Costco, etc for about 5 bucks and even electronic pill crushers online for a couple hundred dollars (overkill) but i bet thats some fine stuff.

SWIM likes to use a couple of spoons stacked on each other. SWIM prefers a larger soup spoon, but a regular spoon often works just fine. It works in a similar way to a mortar and pestle in that the spoon on the bottom acts as the mortar, and the spoon on top acts as a pestle, and since they fit together so well its easy for SWIM to feel exactly where the pill might still need crushing. Hope this works for you as well as it has for SWIM.

SWIM has always relied on a razor blade to cut the pill into smaller portions, then a spoon to grind the fragments into a fine powder on a piece of paper placed on top of a hard surface like a desktop... after the first crushing as fine as it would go, SWIM would scrape it up with a razor and then spread it out again... for some reason this enabled it to be crushed finer than the first time. Manilla envelopes always worked good for Swim as a crushing surface.

A few years ago SWIM met an old junkie... A guy that had been an addict for 30 years. In his younger years, he was in vietnam... SWIM thinks maybe this is where his addiction originated but SWIM never asked. This guy told SWIM that when he was over there and they'd buy a new batch of heroin, to test it out to make sure it was any good, they would shoot (with a gun) someone... an enemy SWIM assumed. They wouldn't shoot to kill, but shoot to wound and then shoot the guy up with heroin... if he lived they knew it was good, if it killed him they knew it was bad... This guy did not voluteer this information to SWIM, but rather SWIM met this guys girlfriend (who was much younger by 15 years)... one day while SWIM was hanging out at their house, she pestered him to tell SWIM about how they used to test their dope in vietnam... SWIM has no idea if that information was accurate.

Ok, SWIM got off track... this just remidned SWIM of that story... anyways, from this guy SWIM learned of an interesting way of crushing oxys. SWIM means the guy was getting older, lived out in the country so he basically went from heroin to pharmy opiates. So what this guy would do was take a business card, fold it in half, and use a pair of pliers to crush the pill then... the business card kept the oxy from flying all over the place and it. He also showed SWIM a newer, and likely safer method of injecting oxys that SWIM had never thought of but that's for another thread.

SWIM has a little marble pot pipe, a treasure he's kept with him since he was 17, many, MANY moons ago. He crushes his 20's with the fat part of the pipe, cuts it into lines with a guitar pick, and rooty toot toot.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the ol' water clamp method! Grab a water clamp and grind that lil' bugger till it's gone. Takes about 30 seconds and it's as fine as powered suger. Works greeeaaat.

lol SWIM has a plastic weed grinder with pyramid shaped teeth thats so strong you could crush stones with it! SWIM can turn pills to flour in a few seconds.

and...

once SWIY has smaller chunks, another way to effectively keep bits from flying is by placing a dollar bill over it then crushing it throught the dollar bill with something like a lighter or a spoon and can be run horizontally with the bill, this should crush it pretty good... doesn't have to be a dollar bill, could be normal paper, but cellulose paper is pretty tough. there are also pill cutters, and crushers that just twist down and crunch it up with pressure like a mortar and pistol...

If swiy does not own a mortar and pestle a Shot glass and a screw drivers can serve as such. Easy, cheap and everyone for the most part has these devices at their disposal.

yikes, a screwdiver in a shot glass, might chip away glass into the snortable stuff... now a shot glass and the bottom of a plastic pill bottle twisting away has worked very well for swim in the past.

Im speaking of the back end of the screw driver of course, preferably one that fits nicely into the shot glass.
