Were swim is from (united states) name doesnt mean shit. Most dealers name there weed stupid street names just so they can profit more from it because its has a name. Swim has heard some crazy ass names before, the best he has smoked was homegrown skunk. For commercial quality, usually the lighter green the better. Swim would have to say that compressed weed is of worse quality than homegrown (grown right that is). For the most part it all "works" but swim loves high quality weed and would spend more money to get quality than quanity (to a point). In swims opinion there is no better feeling of bliss than being stoned stupid off from a good bong bowl of great quality weed.

The best bud in the world is definately dutch weed, wikipedia also notes that the dutch has the best marijuana. Why? Dunno, swims opinion is that since its legal (kinda) there that the quality is more heard of were as in the U.S. to find a good quality source one would have to devolope a relationship of trust first. And then keep it a secret, because good sources dont sell to everyone. Maybe one day U.S. will feature something like a cannabis cup. That would be a most enjoyable event that swim would celebrate heavily (as a smoker).

California has some of the best weed in the world, mostly areas with high medical activism, as there is a large group of growers with high skill in a small area. Vancouver I have heard also has some very good weed and plenty of great growers. It depends on the grower really, anywhere can have the best cannabis. It's just more available in certain places. In terms of genetics some areas in california have clone-only strains that probably don't get spread around immediately, but eventually do, and those can be very potent strains, that will soon hit the "black market" around you.

Swim lives in a californian county that employs more than 350 medicinal marijuana dispensaries, one of which he is a co-owner of. His financial and managerial partner just finished a doctoral thesis on cannabinoid receptor mechanics, and decided to get an advanced lighting bacterial detection system (after learning that an unreasonably high amount of cannabis on 'the market' has some sort of mold or living contaminant), as well as an analysis computer for determining potency of THC v CBN v CBD v etc. v plant matter. He has consistently been receiving samples of 13-16% THC by dry weight for the last year from a few local indoor growers working with rotating aeroponics, and has been 100% mold/contaminant free. All the medicine is kept in glass in a cooled wine humidor, and handled only with skinny tongs, so none of the precious resin or glandular trichromes are lost. Since they never see a baggy or a tossing machine, they keep all their trichs, and never lose their flavanoid character through excessive drying. All the flowers come straight from the growers to my swims shop, sometimes he even picks them up from the grow-houses. Within the country (US), the quality simply does not compare. Swim has lived in Chicago, briefly in NY, near Los Angeles, Portland, Minnesota, Florida and Colorado, all across the country, and has never run into pot like this. In the Netherlands, he found some pretty impressive flowers, but it took some scrounging with considerable effort. In Thailand, he found what was probably the lowest overall quality he has ever run into, which improved slightly across the Cambodian border. Other than that, he has not sampled any international flowers, so could not comment on it, but based on his anecdotal experience and work with medicinal growers, he is hard-pressed to believe a plant could survive with more THC than some of the buds he has been testing. Specifically the last two strains, Punta Roja (Columbian Genetics, aromatic and euphoric) and Mu-OG (Kush Afghanica clone, by a grower named Mu) have been remarkably frosty, to the point where handling the flowers is like playing with honey. As for a cannabis cupish event, the Emerald Cup is the judge around here, and the winning grower from 2006 grows almost exclusively for my friends dispensary now (though he is taking his earnings and moving abroad).

Sounds like SWIY really puts the proper time and effort into their plants, SWIM is sure it's appreciated by the herb's recepients.

Right now SWIM has been smoking some stuff straight from around the Lake Tahoe area, it's pretty good, but his favorite is probably either trainwreck or northern lights. A LOT of it is due to how well the bud is grown however, SWIM has had poorly grown trainwreck that wasn't even as good as generic kb that was grown very well.
