MPD/DID and RC usage
I was wondering if anyone else has had any experiences with MPD (multiple personality disorder, or DID as it is now called) and research chemicals and/or psychedelics. I am not looking for a lecture on the dangers mental disorders and drugs, but experiences, and or information. DID is not like Bi-Polar or Schizophrenia, there is no chemical imbalance in those with DID, just a separation of personalities due to serious trauma and/or abuse.
There is no info that I have been able to find on the web or the forums but let me share what some of my good friend SWIM’s experiences on the subject: SWIM’s wife has DID due to severe abuse and trauma inflicted upon her from age 4 up until a few years ago. She is in counseling and for the most part has her life together. She has 4 distinct personalities that they are aware of: 1 child, 1 teenager, and 2 adults. SWIM and his wife occasionally indulge in a psychedelic lifestyle, once or twice a month. This has been quite helpful in SWIM’s wife’s therapy…let me explain… SWIM’s wife was for the most part unaware of her ‘other parts’ until a heavy dose of mescaline (oh but they have been there for a long time). That night two of his wife’s alters came out and she was suddenly aware of them (prior to that she was having complete blackouts whenever she was not the personality using the body). It was quite traumatic for both of them, but they sought counseling from an authority on DID in their area, SWIM’s wife was diagnosed shortly after counseling began. Looking back, things suddenly made sense for SWIM, the sudden mood changes, the different points of view, and the sudden change of voice, especially when tripping.. It all started adding up. It seems that the phenethylamines are the gentlest on SWIM’s wife’s system. There have been no serious incidents, or after effects on these substances (Mescaline, 2C-I, 2C-E, 2C-T-7, 2C-T-2, MDA, MDMA, etc..) SWIM’s wife and alters enjoy these substances very much, and much wonderful communication and unimagninable closeness has occurred on some of these wonderful substances. He even proposed to her while enjoying the closeness a 2c-I experience. (They have been married almost a year now) However, the tryptamines have produced some unpleasant side effects, especially 4-ho-dmt (anything over 2grams cubes), but also 5-meo-mipt/4-ho-dipt combo’s (10mg/10mg), 5-meo-amt was the worst (3mg). Anything that touches on ego loss becomes a serious problem. When SWIM’s wife is on large doses of tryptamines the switching becomes rapid and uncontrollable, sometimes merging two or more personalities, temporarily. Mind-shattering, loss of mind-scape (the world/rooms the personalities create for themselves while not using the body) and mass confusion within the system leaves SWIMs wife shaken for up to a week. There are also sometimes full flashbacks (abreactions) of past abuse, and this usually ends up with SWIM's wife in the fetal position crying and shaking. These experiances have also led to an integration and co-consciousness (according to the therapist this is no easy feat and usually takes years after therapy is sought).. SWIM’s wife’s therapist has been amazed at how quickly she has been able to understand her disorder, and how easily she seems to work with it. In less than a year she has uncovered 2 personalities she did not know existed, has been able to become co-conscious (when another alter is using the body the main personality is aware of what is going on). SWIM does not understand what exactly is going on with his wife, and of course no studies have been done showing the benefits or dangers of using these substances (much less in people with DID), but overall the benefits seem to outweigh the dangers. This is not a joke, SWIM’s wife condition is quite real. If you do not believe MPD/DID exists, that is ok and 100% your right, but you have probably never lived with one, so please do not make rude comments on this topic, just skip it and go on to the next topic….Thanx. |

Re: MPD/DID and RC usage
Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
No one? SWIM would really appreciate other's opinions on the issue of disassociation and psychedelics, not just MPD/DID but anywhere on the disassociative spectrum, from PTSD to DID to blackouts. |

Re: MPD/DID and RC usage
SWIM knows nothing of this disorder outside of hearsay, but SWIM thinks that though psychedelics are a huge risk for any kind of mental illness, they are probably indeed beneficial for your wife's condition. Psychedelics show the user the world and themselves the way it truly is. This could also apply to abnormal psychological states. Psychedelics have also been used for psychotherapy for decades. SWIM thinks that SWIY should be VERY careful, however it seems that SWIY has thought it out and has the guidance of a professional and it is good to hear how psychedelics are helping to readjust your wife's problem.
Good luck, and BTW SWIM is not surprised tryptamines are more of a problem. They are much less controllable than phens.. |
