Friend getting into glass

My friend has recently started smoking glass
idk the difference in glass, or meth
but he tells me its all the same, and really he's been blowin all his money on it
hes a pretty big dude and he dropped like 30 lbs. in a couple weeks
can someone please tell me why people get so hooked to this drug?

also another friend of mine tried it & hated it
cuz he said his skin felt like it was crawling the next day and he heard loud ass noises.
Does this happen to everyone?

Well, I imagine most people who become addicted do so because (if it is meth, I'm not too hip to slang) it tends to make you feel really good and it is unpleasant to come down, leading you to do more. Doing it over time leads to psychological and physical (is this right for meth? May want to look around) dependency.

The euphoric feeling becomes overwhelmingly addictive and people dont want to come down and stop feeling that good . Amphetamines are very psychologically addictive , and stopping use will make users feel depressed and feel that they will never be as happy as meth made them . Read up on Amphetamines and you will see how addictive they are in all forms , meth being the most addictive . Meth users describe meth as making them feel "Sparkly and new" and makes people feel good about themselves and that becomes another reason they wouldnt want to quit . Giving up drugs can go two ways , but relapse is always possible , after months or years after giving up , which is dangerous as users dont realise how much their tolerance has lowered and often take too much , from SWIM's personal experience with amphetamine .

Swim had that experience. After 14 years clean, swim had tragedies in her life that took her to the stuff. Swim almost died trying to use like before. Also this stuff seems different, very potent. Swim feels extreme guilt but the cravings are the worst and swim can't deal with that too. Relapse is probable actually, a very high percentage of addicts who quit relapse. It could be a week, a month, or 14 years. Isn't that the pits?

Yep , same with SWIM and cocaine harsh reality but relapse is very likely because addicts realise life isnt as good without drugs , in SWIM's experience he realised there was no party without coke , waking up every morning was hard and staying awake late was impossible . Its harsh but everyone has to come down and realise that its not all good doing drugs , the sooner you get out of it the easier it will be .

addiction is insanity, life stinks with drugs in reality. When in pain, addicts do what addicts do best, use unless they recognize triggers and work some program to keep them clean. After a lot of clean time swim got too smug. Life is definitely better sober in reality as we have to face reality at some point.

good point made , cyndi . drugs dont make anything better they just alter your brains perception of reality for a certain amount of time , sometime doing long term damage which makes any existing problems much worse . LOL swim is being so hypocritical right now but atleast SWIM understands and acknowledges ( spelling ?? ) what addiction is and how drugs work , right ?

Yeah swim also feels hypocritical too sometimes since she relapsed and is still drawn to these threads. Yes indeed problems get worse but the need for speed is very overpowering. Staying on topic to the original poster, swim feels euphoric at first but then has to maintain just to get up and function. At that point it is no longer fun. Swim also goes into a deep depression when swim has no more. I guess the draw is the initial euphoria followed by trying to maintain and then hating the depression. I hope that elaborates some.

LOL Cyndi is a good girl but that sorry swim uses something. Swim is not sure of the difference. In swim's neck of the woods, it is called ice. It looks like glass shards. Before that nasty little swim relapsed she was using something that did have a sulphate smell and was powdery. swim isn't a chemist but they called it anhydrous, sp? So chemists please don't beat up swim for her lack of chemistry.

What swiy is using now "ice" is crystal meth . swim is intruiged to try it but it isnt available in Uk in swims area . the anhydrous i believe is either anhydrous amphetamine sulphate , or anhydrous methamphetamine , but swim isnt a chemist either . SWIY should be very careful with ice , as you probably know it is extremely addictive and in the long run swiy could suffer mental problems , due to the tweaking effect of ice over a long period of time . Swim has seen many a speedfreak go insane after a short time on sulphate , and meth (ice) is much stronger than sulphate .

Ah-Ha ! Anhydrous refers to any substance manufactured using anhydrous ammonia , anhydrous meaning that it contains no water , so that for instance no cocaine is dissolved in anhydrous as cocaine dissolves in water instantly . So anhydrous could refer to a few different drugs , most likely amphetamine , methamphetamine or possibly cocaine ? Hope this helps .

All I know is that is smells different maybe the ammonia? That would explain it. Yeah one can get jacked up on speed very easily, one has to be careful. Oh you bet swim knows people that are mental after heavy usage.

In the case of salts, anhydrous means the salt doesn't contain water. Most salts are hygroscopic, they absorb water, even from the air.
If a hygroscopig salt is left in contact with air for a while, it will absorb the moisture from the air getting hydrated, and it will get heavier.
If the hydrated salt is heated, the water will evaporate, leaving the anhydrous salt again.

What does anhydrous mean as far as quality of the speed? Swim just in her experience knows it smells funky where the other types did not. You lost swim with the chemical talk. LOL! Swim is no chemist but wishes she was sometimes.

hmmm ... in common sense , not chemical facts , SWIM supposes anhydrous is probably better , because amphetamine dissolves in water so hydrous salts would cause some amphetamine to dissolve or something Lol . I dont know if what SWIM just said is right or makes any sense , but basically SWIM thinks anhydrous is better as drug cooks are advised to use anhydrous ammonia , especially with cocaine , as cocaine is very dissolvable in water . sorry SWIM doesnt have much info.

Anhydrous would be the unhydrated salt, so it would be moisture free. This means that it will be more potent, since there isn't any water as a percentage of it's weight. If it would be the hydrated salt, than a part of the salt would be water, which makes it less potent on basis of weight.

Gotcha now that is what swim thought from past experiences. She hasn't seen that type in decades. This ice now is not as great an experience.

True in SWIM's experience with coke . Apparently in SWIM's area cocaine is only 15-20% pure . But SWIM is lucky enough to have a decent dealer who cuts the coke straight from the rock infront of SWIM . It's not pure but at least it's not cut again before SWIM has it .

Coke dealers are very greedy , but their reasons are good , as pure cocaine must be cut , not only because it is extremely expensive to buy , but it's very dangerous . SWIM was told that a gram of 100%pure coke would cost somewhere in the hundreds .
If SWIY uses on average 1gram of street grade coke in a session ,
around 20% pure . The imagine taking a gram of pure coke , 5x stronger than what SWIY is used to . It would be like taking 5grams of coke in a session . And in SWIM's opinion , it would blow your freaking head off . Or of course , kill you instantaneously .
So thank SWIY's coke-cutting greedy dealer for not killing SWIY this evening

LOL no swim isn't into coke anymore, she switched to meth which is a different animal. The meth oh how should I say is synthetic which means usually even from the source or main man, it isn't pure. It depends on who is popping the batch as far as quality. Now the middle dude will take the meth which could be bunky in the first place and bunk it up even more. Actually this is common since their is a huge supply for it.

Coke oh yeah dang straight, swim in the day dealt it. Would get it pure from another country and yeah slam it. If she didn't, people would be dying because they are used to the street junk in the us. It is a cutthroat business and swim couldn't take it at a point and stopped the dealing end. Made many many swimmers unhappy since she could get really good stuff. Thus they had to find a source elsewhere.

yeah SWIM has dealt with the cocaine buisness , aswell as ecstasy and amphetamine and it is far from easy money . Awkward customers , bad deals and greediness .SWIM was thinking of using LeJunk's cleaning method but hasnt got the time to fuss with it . SWIM has been offered an ecstasy batch this week for very low price but decided to go for a decent amount of coke instead because dealing isnt SWIM's interest anymore .
