Now I am no supporter of Bush nor the war in Iraq but something annoys me abit,I have noticed alot of younger people especially in the UK and Canada are constantly bashing America and saying "dumb fat yank"and the like simply because it is fashionable now.I even remember on 911 being in chats and seeing some very ignorant people from the UK cheering and happy about the thing.This is really beginning to piss me off honestly!

Actually I seem to see alot of people from the uk doing this.Basing their opinions on every US citizen from their opinion of Bush.Alot of them have this insane idea that they were forced to join in on the war going on in Iraq.They were not forced,their government agreed to it.Blame Tony Blair,not me.

Im an american, and I wasnt that appalled by the whole "9/11" thing. these people who worked in the world trade center worked for soulless world-wide conglomerates who make billions raping third world countries of their ecological commodities. in my opinion, few were more deserving. as to the rest of the world saying americans are fat, stupid and lazy....it seems to me that they would stop saying such things, if only we stopped being FAT, STUPID, and LAZY. while we're behind the vast majority of ex eastern block countries in health care and education, we shouldnt even be calling ourselves a world power. we should all be ashamed of the country we live in. which isnt to say you shouldnt love it or be patriotic, saying these denegrating things about our country isnt unpatriotic in the least. if enough people were saying these things, then there might be some national consensus on trying to alieviate these problems. I rather love my country, but that does not mean that it doesnt embarass me from time to time.

there are a multiple amount of personality lifestyles in the U.S, so you can't stereotype a country. Swim is not really patriotic, he just lives. He dosen't agree with everything, or everyone in his country, he thinks of living in his country like living in the world. There's tons of assholes. oh well. Swim is also a hot-head, and want's someone to tell them in person for obvios reasons. But swim will NEVER try to retaliate online! simply because it is immature to do so.

Tony Blair is a war criminal. 1 000 000 people took to the streets to protest against the Iraq war and he ignored them. Stupidly enough, the Brits still relected him. As in the US it was a bi-partisan war.

Iraq and Afghanistan is giving the US a bad name. Not only are they wars of aggression but the US is losing so badly. It gives Western democracy a bad name. The US is seen as the nost aggressive country in the world which has no respect for human rights. Most people know that Bush, and the neocons, do not represent most US people.

No intelligent people should think those who died in 9/11 deserved it, but nor did those cilvilians who died in Palestine, the Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq, Chile, El Salavadore, Viet Nam, Somalia... the list goes on.

Swim would consider Hiroshima just as much an act of terroism as 911 was actually,swim does not support Bush or the war in Iraq he is just simply tired of uneducated young people,primarily in the UK and other parts of Europe bashing America and Americans simply because its the "in" thing now.

It's more about the fact that America has pissed off nearly every other country on the planet with it's ignorance, greed and lack of respect for human life. True America gets an awful bashing but face it..... it's well deserved.

Swim live's in Ireland and after 911 all swim saw on the news and papers for months to come was 911 this and 911 that and how much of a tragedy it was. Yes it was a horrible day and my heart goes out to all affected by it......but the same amount of people who died in 911 die everyday in Africa from AIDS alone and noone seems to care....it's appaling. America took a true tragedy and sensationalised it, and put their media spin on it to gain sympathy and support to launch a war.

In swim's opinion America and Americans would be given a lot more credit if ye didnt vote in the most hated president of all time......TWICE !!! It's a damn selfish move by everyone who voted bush in. And America will continue to be bashed untill it get's it's act together.

Orchid_Suspiria .....general American bashing isnt aimed at you or your average American person, it's aimed at government and at the selfish people who knowingly voted in a murderer cause they hoped it would make their standard of life better. Anyone's who thinks all Americans are lazy, dumb, fat etc are just as closed minded an stupid as the people their comments should be aimed at. Dont let them get to ya, it's not personal.

America is full of smart people who genuinely want to do lots of good in this world....it's just a pity they dont vote them into office though .

In defense of America. WE DID NOT ELECT GWB ONCE LET ALONE TWICE. Thanks you. The shenanigans he pulled in 2000 we couldn't fight. You realize the only way we could've stopped him was complete and total revolution? We wouldn't do that to stop a moderate from taking power (you must remember in 2000 Bush ran as a moderate hell I supported him more than Gore because in 2000 he was all about letting the state decide everything from Gay marriage to Abortion). In 2004 the election fraud was covered up a lot more so much so that evidence of it didn't come for months. (although suspicions ran from the outset). By then...what could we do? Would the average American have cared 4 months ex-post-facto?


SWIS has noticed too that it is cool, even in America, to hate America. Teens think wearing Che shirts (made by god knows which big corporation that supports the republicans/democrats) and drinking coffee from Starbucks while taking about how much they hate the system and such makes them cool... (or rebellious maybe?)

But opposition to it's government, mode in handling internal affairs and foreign policy - those things never went out of style, because the wrongs never went away. i live here and i can say without a doubt that it is true (the fat and stupid part anyways). its not a big secret that we are the most obese nation in the world. as far as stupidity, the avaerage person in this country is not only willfully ignorant of what goes on in the rest of the world, but what goes on within thier own country. want proof? go and ask 5 people who the speaker of the house is or to point out germany on a map...the average person in this country cant.
