Injecting - Why didn't swim feel iv ativan (lorazepam)?

It is a little odd but back in March swim was having very bad methadone/fentanyl withdrawals so he went to the hospital.It took awhile but finally it looked like he was going to get some relief from a shot of lorazepam and phenergren.Well he did not even feel slightly sedated or better from the injection.Why is this?Is it because the withdrawals were so bad that he couldn't?Or could it be some other reason?

Swim isn't sure.He never asked and they didn't tell him.Swim might have a tolerance to benzos now but before that event swim hardly ever used benzos so it couldn't have been tolerance.

They probably gave swiy a small dose. Of course in the past, swim was given a bottle of lorazepam (ativan) to help with the withdrawl symptoms. Swim was arguing that he needed to buy a bottle of alprazolam from the street, but was finally content at being given the lorazepam... assuming that it work work the same as the alprazolam. Hah! Boy was swim pissed when he took a little trip away from home, and when he got to his location where he planned on detoxing himself, swim discovered that the lorazepam (ativan) offered no releif at all from his withdrawl symptoms.

SWIM never made that mistake again. It's odd that it affects different people so differently. Apparently it works real well for some people. Swim's dr. even regards lorazepam(ativan) and alprazolam(xanax) as having the 2 highest abuse potentials of all commonly prescribed benzos.

It must have been a low dose because swim kept asking for more to no avail.Right across from swim in the other room some person that got really injured in some accident was getting some morphine.Oh how jealous swim was!It's like they were teasing him.

The prescribed him a bottle of lorazepam(Ativan) to take home but he only got ten.For swim to have any real relief he had to take five so that didn't last long at all.Absolutely horrid day for swim and worst of all it resulted in many people finally learning of his habit.Swim should have just stayed at home and fought through but he was in such misery that he wasn't thinking clearly or considering the consequences going to the hospital might produce.

Alprazolam(Xanax)actually is the most abused benzodiazepine where swim lives and the one that will be found for sale on the street usually.
