Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

heard alot about nootropics for concentration, but swim isn't much interested in them for that. swim is cursed w/ CRS (Can't Remember Shit)... swim has to study something, but everytime swim reads it to memorize it, or even talks it aloud, swim still can't remember.. at least not fully.

swim wants to know if Nootropics will help swim to remember stuff... swim is curious, can you help swim out?

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

Yes. Infact nootropics that apparently help concentration help general cognitive function and memory as well. The concentration is added. I have been on an intense Nootropic stack for 4 months and have noticed SIGNIFICANT changes in my mental ability and memory-recall. My stack is:

3.5g Piracetam
400mg Huperazine
200mg Pyritinol
40mg Vinpocetine

+ Vitamins, Ginkgo, Gotu Kola, Ginseng, Cod Liver Oil etc...

Its expensive, but if you are willing to take about 20 pills a day for 3 months and you have important exams or similar coming up, it is soo worth it. On top of that, Piracetam has been shown to reduce MDMA and Alcohol tolerance, as well as being good for your heart tissue and possibly neuroprotective.

Drugs that will potentiate those Nootropics are; Modafinil (100-200mg), Ritalin (Methylphenidate 30mg) and Adderall (40-60mg). These will aid with motivation and also temporarily increase Vasopressin production in the brain (a hormone shown to have connections with memory). However, these are restricted substances and I am in no way advocating the use

40-60mg of Adderall is a fairly high dose for people with no tolerance. It may be uncomfortable, and its probably more in the recreational zone of effects rather than nootropic. Be careful with suggesting doses, as every person is different, and it sounds like swiy may have some amphetamine tolerance if he uses those doses of adderall (potentiated by piracetam no less!) for study/concentration purposes.

20 pills a day!!!! swim has problems w/ committing to just 1 pill a day for swims stomach acid issue...

swim has heard alot about that Piracetam... but all those meds you listed, does swim need a prescription in order to get them? swim knows they sell Nootropics online on some of the smart drug sites, but swim knows those are expensive for just 4 pills... swim needs a supply like what you got for at least 1 yr.

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

SWIM does not have amphetamine tolerance at all as the only stimulants he really uses are ritalin, adderall and ecstasy - and he only uses those maybe once every 2 weeks. The doses SWIM suggested were personal preference and, as you quite righly said Bajeda, those high doses would be recreational. However, SWIM was talking about sustained use - taking 10mg of adderall every hour or so in order to maintain focused.

kryptik, there is no way you will be able to improve your memory by taking less than around 10 pills a day. Ritalin and Adderall (both restricted as they are prescription only) only help temporarily and ultimately result in a decrese of vasopressin in the brain. SWIM guesses the synthetic vasopressin may be a solution but, again, that is dangerous, short-term and illegal. Most Nootropics are legal but SWIY would have to be taking a large stack everyday in order to improve memory and enhance general cognitive effects.

Ah, ok. Its important to note such things then. You wouldn't want someone to take your word to heart and pop 60mg of adderall with some piracetam their first time taking it without knowing exactly what they are doing.

Anyways, swim has only really used piracetam as far as nootropics go, and he feels he will keep using it as he has been getting results. He can't really say that he has noticed an enhancement of memory though. Other things, maybe, but not memory.

Vasopressin isn't around but demospressin is, it is supposed to be just as good and it is more well researched.

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

SWIY should try a mix of centrophenoxine and piracetam, this is inexpensive and very effective, swiy can easily obtain those in bulk powders and it can cost less than a $ / day.

SWIM also has the same problem. SWIM has been interested in Piracetam for the longest time and has been wondering to get get ahold of some Piracetam. Could she find it at her local health store? With the vitamins?

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

SWIM uses huperazine, centrophenoxine, piracetam (1700mg/day), l-carnitine, ginseng, rhodeola rosea, bacopa, choline, DMAE and vinpocetine currently - they help with 'congition' but SWIM still has a poor memory (better with but still bad). What nootropics mostly do is quicken thinking and ability to reason rather than improve memory. Nasal vasopressin seemed to actually improve memory, but that's long gone and not safe anyways. SWIM would love to find a true memory enhancing drug that is not speed, though SWIM has yet to try modafinil. SWIM has also used hydergine and L-deprenyl in the past but they had side effects so SWIM stopped them. SWIM found that other -cetams (aniracetam, oxyracetam, etc) were no better than piracetam which is super cheap in comparison.

BTW, SWIM found pyritinol to be unpleasant - did it initially have any negative effects for SWIMish?
SWIM still has some around but is reluctant to use it.

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

SWIM found desmopressin to be stimulating, but he wasn't able to study as well under its influence. It was better for him to use for volleyball or other free-time activity. It wasn't very physically stimulating, but it wasn't either that mentally-orientated stimulation, or the wrong kind of, so that he couldn't study. Kind of took away the feeling of tiredness and gave a sharp, but too unrestful feeling to study.

Re: Do Nootropics help memory? swim is curious...

swim's been researchin nootropics lately, and found some sites that sell them... cheaper then what swim found in the past... swim was interested in piracetam, oxiracetam and aniracetam.. swim is also curious about dmae, choline, gaba, vincopetine ( i prob spelling that wrong) and wants more info on l-carnitine.

swim researched aniracetam, and saw reviews from users, and it looked like ani was more harmful then helpful... lots of unpleasant side effects... so swim is thinking this may not be good for swim...

how would oxi/piracetam/vin one be together though? swim is looking to better her memory. swim is trying to get promoted in military, but can't remember the stuff she reads... so is wondering if nootropics might be able to help her... swim only will try them if they will help her remember stuff...
