Opinions - I need your help about LSD...

I'm new in here and I think of taking LSD sooner or later... I have never being on drugs... So is it worth taking it?? And if somebody took it please holla any info on how it was...

First, SWIY must research the HELL out of LSD and possibly Shrooms. Where as in theory one may not have to know everything about something being consumed; it just seems logical for such a powerful mental stimulator to be understood to a high level of degree before becoming the experiant of such.

Recall that saying "Knowledge is Power?" SWIM believes this is completely true in this area of subject in addition to lessening the chance of an overwhelming (in a negative way) experience.

Then, SWIY verifies that any medications that SWIY is taking will not conflict/cause harm with the ingesting of the said psychedelic....

SWIY must understand what SET AND SETTING IS...

If SWIY has done all of this and still wishes to trip, then SWIM believes it is well worth taking LSD.

It all depends on what swiy is wanting out of the experience.First go here http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd.shtml and read all the info and experiences and think if this is something swiy would like to feel.If you want swims opinion of lsd it is great fun when you are young and happy but when you are old and sad it is just uncomfortable and makes you feel more than you really want to if that makes any sense.The colors,visuals,and complex thoughts,and body high can be quite lovely in the right set and setting.Swim would not do acid nowadays though.

the worst way to take LSD is a.) do NO research b.) take as much as possible c.) take more after taking as much as possible c.) take lots of other drugs as well d.) take more and remember : the picture on the tab is NOT the chemists way of explaining what the trip will be like..

well, swim thinks that 'researching the hell out of it' is all fine and dandy, though he didnt before he took it (young and dumb...blah blah i know). basically he just knew not to do it if anything around could upset him, as it magnifies state of mind and all that.

also, pretty logical not to do a lot... no-one who even has the faintest idea of how powerful it is should have the intelligence not to play big-shot for his friends(who will probably laugh at him as he goes insane).
basically what swim is trying to say is only respect for the drug and a happy set/setting(as mentioned).

researching it too much could lead to disapointment i think, as a lot of what swims read is based on much better supply than swim can get, basically dont get your hopes up, cos it might not be as wonderful as you expect. a mind will naturally aim high when reading a lot of trip reports.

and although swim is NOT saying the drug is not as wonderful as they all say it is, just saying the best time for swim was his first time when he didnt know exactly what to expect.

*swim knows ppl are going to shout at him for saying dont research it too much, but he honestly believes that if a person were to basically follow the set/setting rule, and not take more than he should, all will be wonderful.

knowing too much takes the edge off, one day on t'internet (Erowid probably) should get you enough preparation for an acid trip.

If swiy has never taken drugs of any kind before then he should leave LSD alone for now.

As an experienced psychonaut, I second this opinion.

IF -and only if- SWIY feels compelled to experiment with psychedelics, he should start out with something like cannabis and see how he reacts.
SWIM would recommend mushrooms over acid for SWIY's first actual "trip".
SWIM also strongly suggetsts that you procure some benzodiazepines
before trying any of these, particularly if you are prone to anxiety.

LSD is intense. You WILL be under it's influence for the better part of a day, and it's not like weed where you can just take a nap if you overindulge.
There is also a very good chance that what you'd be getting is not LSD at all, but rather another synthetic hallucinogen which is easier to make.
