Filling prescription (USA) - Insurance Will Only Pay For Mail-Order

When SWIM went to Eckerd to fill his scripts for alprazolam, and two other meds, he was told by the pharmicist that after refilling his alprazolam a certain ammount of times, his insurance would only pay for mail order. He told SWIM that if he wanted to fill the alprazolam he would have to pay full price, but the pharmicist still filled the other meds. Has anyone ever heard of this policy, and how does SWIM go about this "mail order"??? SWIM needs this medication and has no idea what to do now. Can he fill it at a different pharmacy? SWIM's doctor will gladly write another script.

insurances are weird with swims ambien the first bottle was allowed to be brand name the rest had to be generic.usually there is nothing swiy can do about it,insurance companys have strict guide lines.filling at a different pharmacy probably wont do anything.....just ask the pharmacist about how the mail thing works,but hey at least you can kick back and have your stuff delivered to you.you should ask if your other meds can be delivered at the same time too for convenince.usually on wekdays the delivery only takes 24 hours.

Thanks, SWIM didn't know it would come that quick, he was thinking like a week or so for delivery... SWIM is going to walk over to the pharmacy now to ask about mail order in an hour or so.

if it the kind swim is thinking of,the ones that deliver to elderly people and rehabs it should take no more than 48 hours.it actually pretty conveniant
