Root Canal Cocktail

SWIM had a root canal today.

What is the best cocktail to buzz through the pain.

SWIM has Hydrocodone 5/500, Soma, Furinol 200/300/20/15, flexeril and restoril.

Re: Root Canal Cocktail

Be very carefully mixing all that stuff... The more ingredients you add to a cocktail the higher the potential for problems. Hydro and restoril though is what SWIM would take.

Re: Root Canal Cocktail

Do they still give Pain pills for root canals? Swim's going to have one and was told by people theyre painless now. Is swim gonna have to make a big stink about his "pain" or will the dentist look at swim like hes faking it and suggest tylenol?

The first one I had 5 years ago was totally painless.

The one I had last week about killed me. Shooting pain. They did 3 of the roots and left one untreated, which they were supposed to treat today. It felt like someone was screwing a lag bolt in my upper jaw. She perscribed 10 vicodan 5/500, and I was still crying like a baby. I didn't care what she thought, my %^&*$%* jaw was hurting. She saw me on Friday and did the last root with an extra shot before I left + 10 percs.

SWIM did alot of experimenting on toothache pain relief. 2 percs and 800 mg of motrin knocked the pain out + restoril to help sleep.

Please always include the chemical name of pharmaceutical drugs in your posts. This can be easily obtained from Google or other search engine. Doing so will avoid confusion on this international forum. Thank you.

Alot of the newer "painless" dentistry is only painless during the procedure, they are doing more procedures under anesthatia(sp?) but when you wake up and everything wears off your going to be in pain, or atleast a little soar, ecspecially for root canals and extractions.

Re: Root Canal Cocktail

When my kitten got his wisdom teeth out, he was given midazolam and fentanyl, and never felt the procedure. When he got done, he was sent home with 30 hydrocodone 5/500's. My kitten felt no pain.
