SWIM's been experimenting with methods of potentiating DXM
SWIM used to take 20mg of Lexapro (Escitalopram, an SSRI) and got incredible euphoria rivaling that of MDMA on doses of around 300mg DXM. Just recently he's been working on a way to achieve those effects without taking Lexapro daily, as he found the side-effects of it and other SSRIs to outweigh the positive effects.
SWIM realizes there is a general fear of serotonin syndrome when combining DXM with any other drugs that alter serotonin levels. He thinks this fear is seriously over-exaggerated, as he has never had any problems and neither has his friend who has offered to play test subject for some of these experiments.
Anyway, the bottom line is that these experiments have shown great promise so far and SWIM intends to continue testing similar methods in hope that he might be able to achieve the same effects that he once got when taking Lexapro daily. He hopes that other people will find this equally helpful, as SWIM found DXM on Lexapro to be one of the most enjoyable drug experiences he's ever had.
SWIM's most successful test thus far has been as follows. Approximately 6 hours before taking the DXM, SWIM and his friend ingested 20mg of Lexapro. SWIM assumes that any equivalent dose of another SSRI should have similar effects. 2 hours prior to ingesting DXM, SWIM and his friend both took 100mg of 5-HTP. 15 minutes prior to taking the DXM, they ingested another 100mg of 5-HTP.
SWIM and his friend then took 360mg of DXM in syrup form, a dose that produces typical 2nd plateau effects for both SWIM and his friend when taken alone. SWIM assumes that both him and his friend react to DXM in the typical way that most people react to it.
The effects experienced were significantly different from what one would typically experience from a 360mg dose however. Both SWIM and his friend experienced full-on dissociation. While SWIM has never taken a dose above 500mg, SWIM's friend said that the effects were comparable to the experience he's had when taking 700-800mg of DXM. Both SWIM and his friend later concluded that they both had similar effects from this experiment, so SWIM assumes that most other people would as well.
SWIM and his friend reported no unusual side effects the day after, and all negative side effects seemed to be typical of a 360mg dose. SWIM and his friend concluded that only the positive effects seemed to be potentiated, while the negative effects were not.
While SWIM was fascinated by these results, he was a bit disappointed because he was seeking potentiation of the euphoric effects of DXM, not full-on dissociation. SWIM and his friend will continue experimenting again soon, most likely with a similar method of potentiation and a smaller amount of DXM.
SWIM used to find the most euphoric effects occurred at doses of around 300mg when on Lexapro, so he and his friend will try a dose of 300mg next time.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
