Recovering Resin

SWIM's been trying to find a good way to get the resin out of his pipes and into his body where it belongs. Scraping and smoking is a pain because pipes aren't really shaped for that. He's been soaking the pipes in olive oil, which gets the resin off, but it tastes so horrible he can't eat it even mixed 50:50 with butter on pasta for example.

How does SWIY get the resin into his body? He's poor so he wants to be efficient.

Anyone know if the oil from such an extraction can be purified and/or quantified via methods with easily available materials? SWIM's wondering if shaking the oil with water will pull out some of the nasty stuff from the oil. Also, is there any way to use paper chromatography to analyze the THC content of the oil using regular household paper?

SkyWalker: Soak the pipe in isopropyl alcohol or acetone, shaking it from time to time to further agitate the resin (works best in a plastic ziplock bag so you can give it a really good shake). After all the resin has dissolved into your solvent of choice remove the pipe and pour the liquid into a pyrex dish, leave to stand until it has all evaporated then use a razor blade to scrape up the oil.

Good idea. I'm a bit wary of getting impurities in there, but I'll try it I guess.

And did you try the search? You may be able to find a way to avoid impurities. Take a look around
