Ethics of sharing Salvia

SWIM on two recent occasions had used Salvia while listening to music live--first at a small blues club, then at a large, elaborate concert. Contrary to conventional wisdom, SWIM finds public events just fine on Salvia, so long as involved personal interaction is kept to a minimum. Plus amplified music is AMAZING. [Any noobs who read this, please, PLEASE try a given dose of Salvia a good dozen times first, starting with a low-sensory environment and gradually getting more novel, before doing this!]

At the concert, plenty of drugs (mostly MJ) were being smoked, if smell was anything to go by. SWIM smoked his Salvia, too, which brought about an ethical dilemma.

SWIM has always felt that partaking in drugs at a concert is a communal thing, in a way, and anyone who refuses to share with at least his immediate neighbors is a selfish pig. Unfortunately, SWIM arrived late, and obviously felt it very, very wrong to give Salvia to a person expecting to smoke pot. So, SWIM smoked his stuff by himself and had a bit of a guilt trip.

During a break, he explained the situation to his neighbors, and wound up sharing with a prevoius Salvia user. Heck, even if SWIM explained drug effects to a noob, he'd be hesitant to give some to a "hell, I'll do anything once" type of person.

So, how to handle this? Either hog it to SWIMself and be selfish, or don't smoke it publicly, which kinda sucks for a concert, because the short half-life almost requires redosing during an average concert. (I guess one possibility is to see if SWIM gets anything out of sublingual absorption).

And as for those who would criticise SWIM for using a sacrament so "frivolously," he finds that the true pleasure of Salvia is that (at a high "A" to low "L" dosing) it so heightens novel experiences that he thinks it more disrespectful to just take it alone in his apt, staring at the same damn posters on the wall.

Swim can sure relate to your 'public toke' concerns. Swim smokes Salvia all the time in public enviornments and can hear where you are coming from... Swim has found that unlike most folks who use Salvia, Swim rarely does the "low light/quiet spot/blah blah proscribed way of using Sally Swim also has never used a sitter.... The way Swim approaches this issue, is that if he is toking, he will quietly sit there, minding his own business, and do his hits... If people notice, Swim will be friendly, nodding hello etc. If someone ask for a toke, Swim will smile and tell them that it is not MJ, but something different... If this leads to a further round of discussion, Swim will tell the people a bit about Sally. If they indicate a desire to toke, Swim will let 'em fire up, on the spot... Usually Swim smokes ho-made 8X, so he will instruct the newb to take up to 4 hits (or less, whatever they are comfortable with)... As Swim sees them begin to come onto the Salvia Surprise, Swim will bid them farewell and leave at that moment.... This gives them the oppurtunity to have their experience without Swim coloring their trip in any way.... Swim always tosses them a few doses as he leaves, in case they decide to 'go for it' again sometime.... ---------sal

swim has never tried salvia at a public event, but he knows that if he were to he would never let anyone who had never tried the drug before use any of his. way too many people hate the effects salvia has on them and swim wouldnt want to be the person to inflict an unenjoyable trip on anyone. beyond that swiy can never be sure what, if any, other drugs another person has taken and how they will react to salvia, swim thinks its safer to keep salvia to ones self, and keep all noobs well away from it when in public.
